  1. At least they allow you in there house. When I traveled with my MIL to her mother's funeral her sister didn't invite us to visit her house. It was very weird for me. My dh's family is the sit and watch TV type, thankfully I can deal with it. I can play with my kids or plan adventures, as I refuse to travel cross country and watch tv the whole time. It was better that last time I went thankfully. My mom's family gets together and laughs and talks. Haven't seen dad's side in years.
  2. Braum's would be in Hillsboro. Freddie's Frozen Custard might be around. Yes turn up the AC and welcome to Texas. We are north of Austin too.
  3. Unplug the Roku, and the reset the back with a paperclip or something similar.
  4. Easy. My favorite way is to throw it in the crockpot after I get out the gizzards/ heart ect. Add some BBQ sauce. Cook on low or high depending on if it is morning or afternoon when I get started. If you have a rotisorrie it is easy, add, paprika and garlic salt and cook.
  5. All boys, 10, 7, &4. They are all fine with me feeding baby brother 4 months around them. No covering. They aren't comfortable if they walk in and I am just out of the shower getting dressed, but nursing doesn't bother them at all. The 4 year thinks it is the best time to hug and kiss his baby brother.
  6. Which scale are they using? (10 years ago there were 3) I had a doc that used the lowest scale and I was a point too high he wanted to hospitalize me 24 to monitor me. I switched doc's and got a second opinion. Thankfully he used a different scale but he did make me retest. I would avoid the test but that is me. It makes me sick, literally and that can't be healthy for me or my baby. I don't get sick when I eat food just the nasty glucose drink. Good luck. Can you do the jelly bean test or even eat a real meal?
  7. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: I just have to stay the fact you are still pumping for preemie twins makes you my hero for the day! :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:
  8. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: Sorry. Losing a coop is hard. Thankfully at WTM we mostly play nice. It has taken the place of my coop. I do have friends that homeschool locally but I don't think I will ever do a coop again. :grouphug:
  9. I think that is a great solution. Thank you for sharing, wish I had heard of that idea about 15 years ago as a teen. I really enjoy being doctor mom and sometimes wish I had pursued medicine. Maybe someday.
  10. I know a lady with reversed organs. She is in her 40's. She does have health problems but I think they are not related to the reversed organs. She is a twin.
  11. :grouphug: Boys are fun. When mine were younger I thought they had poured paint on the 2 yo. We have a red door & walls. First glance I was sure they had gotten into the paint as it was all over his face. Nope it was a silly forehead wound from a rock. Small wounds on foreheads are really bloody. Glad you didn't end up in the ER. Hopefully that is the highlight of the weekend.
  12. :grouphug::grouphug: I am Mormon and yep we have meetings too that we are encouraged to attend. But it seems you have more. There is no way we could do late family nights like you mentioned. Dh works and we like our sleep. I also live far away from our church meetinghouse. Thankfully because most of the other members do as well they really limit weekday activities. We have very few and I feel no guilt taking care of my family first.
  13. :grouphug::grouphug: Praying. Please update the hive when things change. I can't imagine, though I would probably be just as set on saving my babies. Dh would be just as set on my living. :grouphug:
  14. Pack like you are moving into the tiny apartment. Then have some boxes labeled for if you are in the fixer upper. Congrats!
  15. Run Away. Major fail with my oldest. He is a lefty, we are still recovering.
  16. Since I can't return razor blades my guess is no. Try craigslist or a friend.
  17. Why not bring cans of beans & meat and make your chili at the camp? There are lots of dehydrated foods you could use. I would rely on my processed precanned things. If you have the time you can precan your own chili or chicken or pork with a pressure canner. Have fun.
  18. I am Jenn. I homeschooled myself in highschool. I have homeschooled my boys now for 5 years. Moved around as a kid but have spent most of my married life in Texas. I used to just come here for the sale boards and now I pop in too much.
  19. Dh will eat it but he doesn't like it. We do either but lately I have found awesome prices on the whole wheat that they clearance at the local grocery store, guess others don't like it either as it doesn't sell.
  20. We watched Baby Babble by Talking Child. And then we did some Speechercise to work on certain sounds that were noted by the speech therapist at dh's school. Signing also helps with those non talkers and while it doesn't replace speech it helped my little one not be frustrated. Now I wish he wouldn't talk so much. :glare:
