  1. My favorite restaurant in Charlotte is the Cajun Queen. Their appetizer, BBQ Shrimp is to die for. http://www.cajunqueen.net/
  2. Karen, Can you share your sources, please? Thanks, Sue
  3. I hope you meant feet, not inches for $130..
  4. My password ended up in my spam folder too. But, I did have to email her a couple of times asking for it.
  5. Here, at our teacher store, it is actually cheaper to laminate the cards (less than $8.00 for all 160 cards) including buying the 39 cent ring. But, then you have to trim the lamination and hole punch. I have a xyron, but I don't bother to use it anymore since the cost of laminating at the store is only a fraction of the refill cost of the xyron. :) But, the notebook and sheet protectors look so much better (and less chance of the cards getting bent or mis-used). ETA: Just wanted to add my experience with the vp cards. I have two sets of vp cards, one laminated on rings (double hole-punched at the bottom) and the other in page protectors with notebooks. I prefer the notebooks.
  6. Staples sells the notebook ~ $6.00-$7.00 and the refill packs (25 each but you can put the cards back to back) ~$5.62. If you do all 160 history cards, you will need two notebooks and 4 refill packs (if you put the cards back to back).
  7. Oh, how cute. Your job sounds amazing. It's amazing that the babies survived with a roommate in the cage. We rescued 5 bunnies and thought we had the females together. We found out the hard way that one was a male. The babies did not survive (trampled by the two other rabbits in the cage). Where did the 100 rabbits come from (besides two others just like them)? I would love to see pics.
  8. I am also in the camp that I won't buy used unless it is 50% off. I would prefer to buy new than take the chance. I did break my rule once and responded to one post here about a WTM book set for sale. I emailed the seller that I can order the set from Amazon ~$20 less than what she was asking and asked her if she could beat the amazon price. She flatly refused saying she needed to get full price for it. After several bumps and weeks, she did sell, I assumed she got her asking price from a buyer who did not research the price first. I could not help but think why would someone pay more than what they could from Amazon (and have brand-new books too instead of used).
  9. I have had a couple of ribs removed (at different times). The pain is only bearable if you take very, very shallow breaths. The pain is excruciating if you breathe deeply, sneeze, cough, laugh, raise your arms, or move. Even pain meds do not decrease the sharp pain if you do any of the above. A broken rib can puncture a lung too. Sending lots of prayers your way.
  10. Your assignment books look great! What kind of dog is Pongo? We had a stray show up here a couple of years ago and his face looks just like Pongo's. When shaved, his body has the markings and coloring of a St. Bernard. And he is huge (95 lbs). but he resembles Pongo's face so much - that same adorable look. So I am guessing our dog is 1/2 St. Bernard and 1/2 Pongo. We even have to trim the hair over his eyes so he can see.
  11. Yes, it is true. You will not have to nit-comb. If you used it today (leave in 10 minutes before rinsing), all the lice will be gone. Today. Do this every three days for another 2-3 shampoos. That will take care of any nits left over. Simple. Easy. Effective. (Thanks Camy!) You can even repeat another shampoo a couple of weeks out too just for extra insurance. Wash clothes and bedding normally, vacuum normally, clean normally. No need to do a "spring-clean" top to bottom. All you have to do is shampoo your hair.
