  1. I would definitely at least let the hospital administrators know what happened. I would not file a lawsuit.  My dad died as a result of negligence on the part of a nursing home.  It was a clear cut case of negligence.  My brother sued the nursing home.  The trial and pre-trial preparation were emotionally extremely hard.  My brother lost the lawsuit.  We went through all of the agony for nothing.   I hope your father continues to do well and I am sorry for what you all went through.

  2. I don't like Co-Ops either.  I also don't like CC with their forced parent participation.  Those days exhausted me and we actually had a good group of families.  Instead, I take my girls to tutorials.   You drop them off and come back to pick them up.  Sometimes, you can come help with an activity or party - it is an option not forced participation.  We like those much better.  My daughter actually lost her best friend because we didn't return to CC.  They had been besties from preschool - fourth grade.  It was sad and hard to understand, but my daughter hated CC too.

Good luck finding a better fit for your family.

  3. There was a thread recently with an online subscription site. You could also just buy courses outright. I can't find it right now, but will come back & update with the thread & site if I find it.

Thank you!  That would be great.  Since she hasn't started high school, I haven't been on this board very much.

  4. Thank you so much for your suggestions.  I will look over them.  The curriculum is for a rising ninth grader who will be 14.  She enjoys a wide variety of art methods.  She had a really excellent art teacher from 5th - 7th grade and did really well in the class.  This year we tried another teacher because of our schedule and he has been okay but the class has really been too basic for her.  Next year, I am unable to schedule her an outside art class so I am looking for something she can do at home.

    Thanks again,

  5. Hi -

I have a rising ninth grader who has taken formal art classes for the past 4 years.  Unfortunately, we are not able to fit art into her schedule this year.  I would like to find a fun homeschool art curriculum for her to enjoy.  I don't plan to use it for credit because she will have enough credits without it.  We have used Atelier in the past, but it is elementary only.  Any suggestions?

  6. We had Robina laminate flooring in our previous house.  Their laminate is really nice quality.  We have hardwood in our current house.  The laminate looked much better than the hardwood and it held up way better too. Our hardwood looks terrible.  It hasn't held up to our dog at all.

  7. I think that you need to see your doctor too.  Your symptoms are too severe for home management and they can be dangerous.  I also agree that you may need an inhaled steroid to open you up to allow your breathing to improve.  My doctor would probably put me on oral prednisone for a brief period and give me an inhaled steroid or other medication to try to prevent symptoms.  Inhaled steroids are no longer enough for me so I am now taking Xolair.  It is shots taken every 2 or 4 weeks.  It is a total pain, but it has really improved my quality of life.  If you have another episode that your rescue inhaler doesn't help, you really need to go to the doctor or hospital.

I hope you can find something that works for you.  Asthma can be really frustrating.
