Mine leaked a lot for months. I diagnosed it as a drain blockage of some kind and bought all kinds of drain openers and cleaners and removed the washer tubes and then dumped the cleaners for 8 hours at a time down the drain. Still no improvement. Finally I called a plumber and he snaked the entire main line and the drain line of the washer and it fixed the problem. We had some kind of buildup in our drainage pipes which narrowed the drain and the water backed up in the rinse cycle and overflowed. The blockage was 8 feet down the drain pipe. So, that is something to check to see, if your drain pipes are blocked or not.

Does anyone know when the registration for August 2024 DSAT opens? I would like to register as soon as it opens because seats seem to fill up soon in my area. Thank you!

Congratulations! I remember when you were teaching them latin as little kids!

There is a museum in my area where visitors can help feed penguins (special pass needed maybe). That could be a good stand in.

You can make a single serving cupcake in a toaster oven or air fryer in that cast iron pot. Also use it to reheat small portions in the oven.
you could also use it as a spoon rest while you cook.

Oh! I just remembered! I think I heard of someone who was able to get a seat at Kehillah last year.
I know a few who were able to take AP there last year as well.

She sounds anxious and tired. How is her sleep schedule and is she having trouble balancing work and school? It could be that she is physically exhausted.

I didn't eat fewer calories when I was doing it, but I suspect it worked because it gave my body a longer break from blood sugar/insulin fluctuation. The longer I did the fasting, the less hungry I was overall. I didn't set out to do IS, but once I realized I was close to it, I just tweaked the timing of some meals to make it fit.
I have a similar experience: I don't eat much in general, never eat any sugar and don't prefer fruits and eat them occasionally - but I can not lose weight due to insulin resistance. Which is why IF is the method that works for me amongst all the methods that I have tried - my body goes into fat burning mode only when sugar levels are depleted. I do a longer fast once a week (24 to 42 hours). I eat during a 5 hour window for the rest of the week, which is TMAD (two meals a day). I drink black coffee during my fasting periods, don't take any electrolytes as I don't find it necessary and don't modify my eating habits. I am at my goal weight and have maintained my weight loss using this method.

This one:

It is sweetened with coconut sugar. One of the Costco's near me (it carries a lot more organic products than the others around me) carries it in the Fall. I order it online the rest of the time.

There was a related recall yesterday for a bag of Whole Foods 365 frozen pineapple that I had bought a few months ago (they sent an email). We consumed it a couple of months ago and I am now trying to think of which of the listeria symptoms we might have had and not noticed!

From what I’ve read, they got around safety regulations because the descents are in international waters
From what I read, the CEO refused to go through rigorous certification processes (I am not using the correct wording) and their key employee raised major issues regarding the safety of the submersible and was fired for leaking this information to the press. They have had public warnings by industry experts who were concerned about their lack of safe practices. And apparently this submersible has lost contact with the mother ship on previous missions as well, so this is not the first time.

I got a ton of them during pregnancy and breastfeeding. the underlying cause for me was Insulin Resistance (gestational diabetes). I asked my primary care physician to get rid of them and she used liquid nitrogen to burn the larger ones off. For the smaller ones, I waited until I finished breastfeeding and cut a lot of the carbs in my diet and put Tea Tree oil with a qtip on them. They went away in 4-5 days.
I get them again occasionally if I wear tight fitting clothes that chafe or wear jewelry that scratches. I use tea tree oil on them until they disappear. My friend who went on a keto diet told me that they fell off naturally after 4 months on keto.

Erythritol too.
I remember reading a child nutrition article a long time ago and it mentioned that if you see any sugar derivatives/substitutes that ended with the letters “…ol”, to avoid it for kids. That being said, some vitamin and mineral supplements that I give my son contain xylitol which I am slowly replacing.

I think this was pushed on people to not consume so much sugar in your diet. So, all these low sugar or sugar free foods were the thing to eat. ARGH. I definitely fell for that.
Generally, avoid the sugar-free option/diet version made with artificial sweeteners and choose the “regular” version and consume it in moderation. I always read labels and avoid artificial sweeteners.
25 years ago, I consumed diet drinks with aspartame at my workplace because they provided it to us, for just 3 weeks without reading the label or being aware of its contents and ended up with a long battle with IBS. I am really careful about reading labels of any processed foods or packaged foods ever since.

This came across my news feed today:
NC study discovers chemical in common sweetener damages DNA, can cause cancer:
the chemical that forms when we digest Splenda, is "genotoxic," meaning it breaks up DNA

Lots of carbs for my kid as he is active in sports. But, I make sure that he eats mostly whole grains, naturally fermented breads etc. He is vegetarian, so there are plenty of carb heavy foods like lentils, beans, fruits etc. Among vegetables, I don’t discriminate between high carb veggies and low carb veggies. I have a rotation of all types of veggies including potatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes. For breakfast, I always add nut butter or seed butter, there is a smoothie with vegetables, protein and fruit in the evening, a large stir fry at dinner.
I have taken to adding fermented foods as a food group in my son’s meals in order to improve his gut health and this involves some kind of fermented vegetable, grains, fruit or dairy at each meal. -

Yes. In many ways it is a better experience than cty. Slightly cheaper, and weekend excursions into Chicago are included in fees. CTY is all on campus, no outside activities. My kid thinks the ctd summer ap biology class was the hardest class he took in h.s.
Thank you!

My did a three week AP biology at CTD, and the following summer did AP chemistry INTENSIVE at CTY, which is a 6-7 week class, and not the standard 3 week class. Both classes were very rigorous. Also, the teacher of the CTY chem class was a stickler on writing proper lab reports. However, I don't think the summer classes are suitable for being one and done. He took them as preview of his upcoming AP classes at school. He was able to breeze through the school classes and did very well on both AP exams. I don't think he could have done well on the exams just by taking the summer classes and then 8 months later taking the ap exams.
BTW there is also an alternate 5-6 week AP chemistry class at CTD.
Is CTD the Northwestern summer school?

He is modifying his diet and he talks about that. But also he says his condition is genetic.
I’m just having trouble with the logic, and I have to be honest and say I’m a bit skeptical.
You use the word "promote": by this I assume that he is either a media personality or has something to sell. In those cases, they may not be entirely truthful in what they say. They might be abstaining from a lot of unhealthy foods behind the scenes while still maintaining their old habits in public. They do have to stay relevant to the people who they are promoting their wares to.
QuoteHe makes something and then only has a tiny portion of it
This is your clue that he is probably cautious about what he eats.
Anecdotally, I used to watch a lot of Food Network before I had kids. I always wondered whether certain of their stars had medical procedures done to stay very slim and fit. Many years later, there were news articles about one of them who supposedly tastes their calorie rich food on camera and used to spit it out as soon as they were done filming. So, what we see is not always what is true behind the scenes.

I don't give a hoot about him but I am saddened that Camilla became Queen.
However tragic and beautiful Diana was, and how unfair the situation in which she was chosen to bear the heirs was, Camilla looks to be Charles’s choice as his lifelong partner and he seems happy with her. So, he got to spend his later years in life with the person he wants to be with. She is the Queen because the King wants it that way.

My parents watched the coronation and said that Charles had to say he was a Protestant and that he would ensure that his successor would be a Protestant. Yuck. Not that there's anything wrong with being Protestant but making that a requirement to be the head of state is bad. Especially when Protestants probably aren't even the majority in the British Commonwealth anyway.
I'm not a big pro American type but I'm glad that we don't have to put up with kings and queens. I'm disappointed that the First Lady went to the Coronation but I'm glad that she didn't curtsy to him. We fought a war so that we didn't have to do things like that.
But, that coronation ceremony was also meant to install Charles in his role as the "Supreme Leader of the Church of England" and the "Defender" of their faith. It was a religious ceremony because in their monarchy, that is one of the roles of the King.

In addition to the above, if you can order $250 worth of stuff from Costco business delivery, you can get free delivery of fresh produce as well as other items. Their website is different from Costco warehouse website, but your membership should work there . They don’t have as many organic offerings as regular Costco and a lot of the items come in bigger packages.
