  1. FWIW. My BIL had this happen, several times. It was DX as vertigo. He was given a med to calm it down when it happened. The last time it happened ( October )he was out of town and ended up at a hospital in Rochester. A new symptom was his voice changed into a very scary almost evil sound. Apparently that is a known but uncommon symptom of strokes. Paramedics got him transported immediately when they heard it. They decided he had been having strokes all along, not vertigo. New meds and he is doing well.
  2. I have seen several “unboxing” videos where people apparently bid on return boxes. Supposedly they have a list of what is in there but the list is vague. The couple I watched, they spent $1,000 on a huge box. Half of it is trash, disgustingly dirty, broken etc. Clearly no one has looked at those items before tossing them in a box. The buyers apparently then keep or resell the rest of it.
  3. Minnesota raised here. I’m old enough that I don’t remember whether I learned it as a kid or my kids learned it as kids.
  4. Amazon has them Available at 1.99 per episode. I believe passport is a cheaper option. Go to PBS.org anything with the passport symbol would be available when you sign up for passport.
  5. My January project is 1/2 completed. I make 8x8 albums for each of my grandkids. Usually it ends when they turn 5. our youngest turned 5 this week. As I worked on her albums, I realized I was going to have to make 2 albums for her! Album 1 is done and she will get it Sunday when we celebrate her birthday. Album 2 will be finished when I get Christmas 2023 and her birthday photos printed…when I get to it…We haven’t actually had Christmas yet due to illness . Needed to clear the multipurpose work table so we can work on taxes….
  6. I wish I knew more about this stuff. I used Amway /Artistry and Mary Kay for decades.. Borgnese from Kirkland Switched to Younique but my consultant quit. Then I used Trim Healthy Mama, but their cases/containers are breaking on me. I trusted those brands, but not because I knew much about ingredients…. I really don’t know where to go next. I bought a Physician’s Formula, but I don’t like the scent and I don’t like the case. I need something for aging skin. I prefer pressed powder foundation, not loose powder and not finishing powder.
  7. I’m looking for a healthy brand of pressed powder..for various reasons the brands I am familiar with are no longer available for me. Amazon, target, Walgreens..is where I shop these days.
  8. Personally, I use my library audio books. If i don’t like the book, I delete and move on. If I buy a book , I feel the need to read the book anyway as I paid for it. 😝 Because you are traveling, I would download as many books as my library allows. Read, delete and move on. safe travels!
  9. Dairy was the issue for one of my grandkids.
  10. Red heart at first, but the quality is gone downhill. Caron simply soft is wonderfully soft, but is thin, and takes a lot of yarn. I don’t know how well it holds up down the road. I do like Caron brand , and hobby lobby brand which I can’t remember. I don’t buy expensive yarn…just not in my price range. 45 x 45 is typical size that works well. I am more of free for all when it come to sizes… 🤷‍♀️
  11. I crocheted blankets for all 13 of my grand babies. Some became well loved and often needed repairs…and others fell in love with some else. It kind of depends on what blankets mom chooses to snuggle them with. However, I have continued to crochet afghans as my grands have grown and they ALL love them and continue to want bigger ones as they have grown. Make it and give it with love, and then let it go. So yes, people still give hand crafted knit/ crochet blankets . I also made flannel blankets , some of which became lovies too. Moms need different blankets for different things. Yes, look for a pattern that doesn’t leave large holes. I was very careful when choosing patterns.
  12. My sister fits that scenario and she was denied. That’s really my only experience with it although I know currently is in that situation and had no she was entitled to his SS. She is currently working it thru.
  13. I haven’t read all the replies. yes she sound be entitled to his SS, even back when he was alive. As soon he filed she could have been getting half if his. however if she has remarried ever since the divorce , she will be denied.
  14. So very much agree with this! Dr office too..,.”did you know you can almost anything on our website..blah blah blah..” yes I know that! If I could I would! Just cut off the messaging and answer the dumb phone!
  15. I’m so sorry! DIL had an accident with a brand new vehicle they only had about 10 days. The frame needed to be repaired as it was bent. Insurance refused to total the car , would only pay for repairs, which were significant. He fought with them for several weeks. They wouldn’t budge. My son asked the repair shop “ how good would this repair would be, we plan to drive the vehicle for years. “ My son told that to insurance, they still refused to total it. Repair shop said it should have been. The repair people said , it would last thru one more accident. 😵‍💫 My son bought another vehicle and sold the repaired one back to the dealer. Sadly it cost him money, but he wanted a safe vehicle for family. They are still driving it now, 5 years later.
  16. Accepting a number is if she picks up the phone . Anytime you answer the phone, while it’s ringing, that caller will get thru again. I am not positive but if a caller gets thru to leave a message, political, police unions selling lightbulbs etc, they will get thru again. Maybe that is what that call block button is for.
  17. We never used the call block button. Honestly not sure I knew we had that feature. Spam calls were disconnected before the phone ever rang. I don’t believe we ever saw them in the caller ID. There were other callers that were humans, ( political , police union etc) that phone ID would announce. If they were actual humans who got past the Wierd computer voice telling them to leave a message we could just listen and delete at our leisure.
  18. I do not believe it is an updated data base, rather somehow it knows they are computer generated calls, but I certainly don’t know for sure. I just know it worked great for years!
  19. I am searching for a new pressed powdered makeup/ foundation. I don’t like loose powder. I wear it pretty much alone, occasionally some blush.
  20. Absolutely it was a landline. The base needs a phone line and power. Handset just needs power. Honestly if we had not moved and had to give up our landline, I would still be using this phone. I really dislike doing “business” on my cell phone.
  21. We did not have at first, but I believe we did later on when we bundled our cable and phone service. We did not have service when the power was out. Voip vs phone service was no different in how the phone system worked. Our system was a base with the answering machine it, and 4 extra handsets that just need a charging base. We used them all of our house, including the basement, as my cell phone didn't work down there. What is Panasonic Smart Call Blocking? With automated call block, the unit screens incoming calls before ringing for allowed calls, or ends the calls without ringing for calls identified as robocalls, telemarketing calls, or other undesirable calls. When a call comes thru, the unit screens the calls... I believe what it did was, it decided if it was a robo/computer call or a real phone number. It would cut off the robo/computer call and your phone never rings. When a "real" phone number would call for the first time, my phone would ring, caller ID would show up and I could then answer the phone. If I wasn't home, or didn't recognize the number, I would ignore the phone call and they would be prompted to leave a voice mail by pressing a button... I could answer the phone at any time while they were leaving their message. At some point the system knows I have accepted that phone number and those people never hear that wierd computer voice again. Your phone will ring when those callers call again. I don't recall that I ever had to enter a number unless I wanted it in my favorites for speed dialing. I don't have the manual for that exact system ... When we got the phone and were setting up the answering machine, DH decided to just "block all calls" in the menu..and we went from there. Yes, it was amazing. Robocallers, etc. are automatically cut off and you never hear the phone ring. But all those callers that the system has cut off, will show up in your missed calls. You can scroll thru them, and see if there are any phone numbers that you recognize, but they didn't leave a message. Those would be from maybe a Dr. Office appointment reminder or Drug store reminder..etc. something that you need to call back. BTW..my 84 yr old Aunt and Uncle very recently bought a similiar phone system to what I have, and use the call blocking feature. They are thrilled. I believe their's is a panasonic as well.
