  2. It is absolutely crazy weather up in the northern states.
  3. My son in law got them last year I think after after several months of double vision. He’s never worn glasses. Eye Dr told him he likely always had double vision, but his brain? ( not sure what he says) was tired and couldn’t deal with it any more. He is in his mid 40s.
  4. My sister passed a month ago. We(family)wanted to save her posts of meditations she wrote weekly the last 2 years. 2 of my siblings did, but I believe they had to cut and paste. My brother put them in PDF form so we can orient them out. I plan to put them in some kind of sleeves in an album.
  5. I can do 10 cups of flour at a time, which makes 6 loaves of bread. I make a friend h bread recipe my mom wrote, but I grind my own wheat berries and add multi grain cereal…so it’s decently healthy with very little white bread flour in it. I don’t recall have it walk around ever. I agree something might be off kilter with yours, or maybe the dough was just unbalanced that time.
  6. I just finished The Maid, by Nita Prose. Enjoyed it. Just wanted a break from my usual.
  7. I have used it for large (5#] batches of meatloaf for the freezer, and larger batches of cookies..etc. Whipping cream, cake, Etc, the old hand mixer comes out. I have no room for KA. They are much Cuter tho!
  8. I wonder why ATK didn’t review the Bosch. They did several years back, but they set aside it being a workhouse and claimed it didn’t do small batches well..like a cake, or whipping cream, therefore they didn’t recommend it. At least that’s how I remember it.
  9. I had a roll out shelf cabinet built and and just lifted it to my counter when I wanted to use it.
  10. I use a Norwex mop , but any microfiber mop would work well. I then use a hand vac to pick up the “pile”.
  11. Do you know about Love Your Neighbor ( formerly Love Inc) in Hudsonville. They have a building just for medical equipment, which as I understand they loan out for free. When we moved 2.5 years ago, after our moving/furniture sale, we donated a trailer load to them. They will do a pickup if you have enough stuff , but I don’t know if you’re in their pick up route. Give them a call!
  12. Fictional but based on real women.
  13. Nope! They are part of most of my immediate family gatherings. My DIL adores them, so between her and myself, they show up. My son’s in-laws have a cottage on a lake where the owners all get together every Sunday for brunch all summer long. J says Mom, I love your deviled eggs! He has eaten every kind of deviled eggs there are recipes for…he doesn’t want avocado or shrimp or whatever else people are adding..just the Mayo, mustard, S&P ones that I make.
  14. I’m sorry, this just stinks. It sounds like the virus I had in December . For 2.5/weeks I ran a low grade temp but other symptoms were as you described. Eventually it settled into my ears and even my teeth hurt. I did go on an antibiotic and used Bromax to help clear the crud out of my ears. I would take the Monday appointment but consider UC if symptoms get worse. Blowing yellow is not a symptom I had, but I would have gotten in sooner if I did.
  15. Straight Mayo and sugar is just too sweet. I usually add apple cider vinegar and far less sugar than most recipes call for. Adding in some parm sound delish!
  16. We inherited some money and after paying off the mortgage in one of our small rental homes, we went to Hawaii! We loved it so much we went on our 30 and our 35th. We are closing in our 50th next year. Maybe we’ll get there again.
  17. Yes, that’s true, caterers factor in extra for unexpected guests. There typically then wouldn’t be a problem if it is a buffet and guests choose their own table. The problem arises when there are seating charts and your name is not listed. Whoever is in charge at that point, (host and hostess) have to scramble to find a spot for you.
  18. Love it. I had not made it in years, until this past year. I served it for a ladies luncheon, and again at a pot luck. Everyone loved it . My daughter asked for leftovers after my luncheon. Layers can be whatever you want them to be. If you don’t like peas, use peppers, etc. Clearly , I am from an older generation.
  19. Thank you! She is 12! She told me she is looking up stuff online. We didn’t get into any deeper as we were out for dinner , but I’ll check it .
  20. We shopped WalMart? Long time ago.
  21. Before Christmas, my 12 yo granddaughter asked me to teach her to crochet…she’s left handed and we failed miserably. She taught herself last month and just finished a scarf for her brother. I am so very proud of her! Added: when I stopped sewing for my grandkids a few years ago, my DIL packed up my patterns, fabric and taught herself to sew. These Jammie’s are just one pair of maybe 20 she made last year…She makes really great hoodies that everyone in our large family wants!
  22. I have sat in them. Loved it! Incredible comfortable! I looked at buying one but the separate footstool would be a trip hazard in my smallish living room.
  23. FWIW. My BIL had this happen, several times. It was DX as vertigo. He was given a med to calm it down when it happened. The last time it happened ( October )he was out of town and ended up at a hospital in Rochester. A new symptom was his voice changed into a very scary almost evil sound. Apparently that is a known but uncommon symptom of strokes. Paramedics got him transported immediately when they heard it. They decided he had been having strokes all along, not vertigo. New meds and he is doing well.
