I have...they are from the same company that does Garden of Life. Rather expensive...seem to be good. I have used GOL's green powder and Vitamin Code Vitamin C in the past and liked it. Vitacost is the cheapest place I've found for any of their stuff.

 Notice how the dogs all look guilty as sin, but the cat stands defiant.
LOVE THAT!

1st wonderful waterbirth but he was face up...which we didn't know until he came out. The back pain was horrible and I finally asked for sterile water injections which really really dulled the back pain so I could focus on the front pain.
2nd was a homebirth and everything went well with that....no back pain this time but my thighs really hurt....I wish I had an epidural for my thighs at that point oddly. It hurt but...it is the way to go for me unless there is a real emergency...which is why I will always utilize midwives

I wish we had something like that here :glare:

I like how she mentioned that a child is learning all the time, and that it does not necessarily need to be a 24 hour process so to speak. It really is true and people often don't give kids enough credit-they do pick up and absorb a lot more than we think. She also mentioned that ages 6-9 is the best time to lay the foundations for a love of reading and for a rich curriculum of schooling.

Kindle has apps for smartphones...Nook does as well, although the books done by AO are only in the Kindle format.

NOEO....almost everything is included in the kits except very common household stuff or stuff that is easy to find. All books all lessons are right there and you can do 2 days for lessons or two days or however long you wish.
-
I remember reading about them! This does look very interesting. Not everything from TLC is garbage but there is some stuff that makes me go :glare:

Snob? Maybe.
:D
You said be honest. :) And honestly, we all make mistakes and have habits tendencies and misinformation that occasionally offends that offend the notions of others.
Mini Rant: I'm TIRED of writing skills being seen as a reflection of intelligence, education, motivation or otherwise- its not true! Really! :) So "Grammar Police".....you can stand down. :D People who make errors are not lazy, stupid or uneducated (nor do they need to be snottily corrected). :)
Back to OP, if this was your kiddos LA teacher, that would obviously be different.....but as you said- its field trips. Not a big deal. :) Relax and enjoy!
:iagree: I couldn't have said it better.

Please tell me what it was like (I'm not going under, just using local) and what the recovery was like. I asked on facebook and a couple people said the recovery was awful, one said she couldn't even open her mouth for WEEKS, and another said it was fine and she could eat normal the next day.
What was the procedure like? Could you open your mouth afterward? Was the pain so bad at any point it made you want to cry?
I went under...and I am glad I did, because mine were impacted...all of them. Since mine were impacted this will make a difference in our experiences as well. I had mine done two at a time.
Both times I swelled up....I looked like I had a tumor in my jaw. The first day I was in pain that was controlled decently with percocet, though I had to constantly change the gauze in the extraction areas for a few hours. I had to use ice packs or frozen veggies frequently. The following days the pain was dealable. I had them done on my days off and I went to work as normal.
The second time for the other two was worse....I didn't swell quite as badly (still had the tumor look) but my face was bruised! I looked like I had been in a fight! I needed many ice packs and percocets for the first night....that was honestly awful. Both times it took a week for the swelling to go down.

Is it part 1 little by little or all at once? Like a few pages a week or the whole thing?
-
Of course. 6 and 3 are pretty different ages and the littler one can't always handle what the big one can.
-
Nope. There is a DT shot, but not pertussis only.
-
so if your pet peeve is with those who don't vax' date=' how do you feel about people who DO vax but still get a possibly mild form of pertussis that they then pass on to you because you didn't know not to go around them because they didn't get diagnosed or have classic symptoms? that's the funky thing about pertussis and the pertussis vaccine.
and i am someone who has healthy children, but oldest has a host of allergies that prevent his vaccination. after his allergies (anaphylactic) starting popping up, it became clear that it was a chance i wasn't willing to take with my other children.[/quote']
:iagree: Exactly.

Son and I have a host of health issues. Ranging from a rare liver disease, diabetes, hypertension, and so on. Basically we have compromised immunity. We have up to date vaccinations and our yearly flu shot. But due to a rise in measles and whooping cough, we have to be careful with whom we come into contact with when it rears its ugly head. My pet peeve are with those who do not vax -- it makes life difficult for people like my son and I.
You do realize that that whooping cough (lately) has been mainly in VAXED kids right? That the shot does not prevent transmission or infection, just a milder case?
blaming those who don't vax is pretty ridiculous when you actually look at numbers and who is getting what. www.insidevaccines.info has studies taken straight from PubMed. I'd link directly but unfortunately where I am the overly sensitive blocker has it, well, blocked.
The unvaxed I know all take care of their kids when they are sick and if a vaccine available disease they keep them away from everyone. Actually, even those with vax'ed kids do the same. Blaming the unvaxed only for sickness is very unreasonable, considering ANYONE, vaxed or not can catch a disease and spread it-and it DOES happen-and no one should be lulled into a sense of security simply because they have a shot. My kids are no more of a threat because they have no shots-I keep them away from everyone anytime they are sick and kept them and myself away from others when they had a vaccine available disease.

I'd go for RightStart, Math-U-See, or Math Lessons For A Living Education. Singapore Earlybird bombed for us too and I found that all 3 of these programs were good for ds....picking just one was the hard part.

NOEO. No really. I have Chemistry 1 and I am starting this with my son and he is loving it! I love that the experiments and all the books come in the kit. The instructors book has all the lessons and there are notebooking pages. There are pages where you can record the results of experiments, pages for drawing or definitions of terms. I don't think it is busy work at all, but it is a mix of CM/WTM, and I lean towards relaxed CM. It's open and go, lots of experiments, lots of cool books. I think your kids may like it.
There is also Real Science Odyssey. It's similar to NOEO but, IMO, more rigorous. In Level One Biology there are TONS of experiments, animal observation, etc. I think there is more writing, but of course at this age it would be more narration/dictation anyway so it can be worked around.
Nancy Larson is another great one, meaty, with kits included.

I'll be reading the Modern English versions from AO. I simply don't have the time, the talent, or the desire to wade through the original. Thank goodness for modern!
:iagree: Absolutely!!!! Too busy....maybe some day I can go into the original.

Not at all. If you are going to choose not to vaccinate your children and yourself then you have to have a plan for when your family gets sick. We have an amazing chiropractor, a great naturopath and we are surrounded/have access to an amazing community of herbalists (I am one as well).
Even if you choose to you should also have a plan.
-
No. Why would it? It isn't a deadly disease in a healthy person, provided proper care is taken. Keep the child away from all people, watch who you are around yourself as much as possible and take very good care to avoid immunocompromised ones. Take care of it. It's no different then many other illnesses but because there is a vaccine we are trained to freak out when outbreaks happen....which will continue to happen because the vaccine does not prevent transmission or infection anyway. Insidevaccines.info has the link to the CDC study that discovered this...sorry I am not at home to link it myself. What scares me is that doctors rely so much on vaccines that they have no clue how to properly treat these illnesses.

He is part of the prosperty ministry that I have all sorts of issues with.

The song has helped my son a lot. Using it with gestures or other manipulatives has helped him be able to get the idea. Still needs a lot of practice.

These are the ones I have and love http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003OUXB1S/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=thecomroo-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399373&creativeASIN=B003OUXB1S
Oddly the paper copy by the same author only has vols 1, 3, and 6
Leslie Laurio is on the advisory at AO....she made it very easy to understand CM's writings.

If you have one of the cable/satellite services that carries NBC, you can log on and watch all the sports, both live and in replays, at nbcolympics.com. We have DISH Network, so I had a password that I could use to log in and watch.
Jackie
DO you have to have internet through satellite to do this?

They were my fave brand of disposables...they held messes very well and were the best quality in my opinion. I don't remember a lot about softness..but I just know they were my fave outside of cloth.
