  1. Except on a street that is so narrowed that two cars going opposite directions cannot pass each other and one has to wait at the end of the parked cars for the other to pass.
  2. These look cute, I think I will try some for my son
  3. Thank you for this. I think we'll start with LL and move on to the Thinkerdoodles and VPSB. He gets frustrated with too much writing as he is not doing very well with that area yet.
  4. That is how my son is...if he gets to a point where it is too much he will shut down and say he can't do it.I want it to get progressively harder of course...but wasn't sure if LL will do that in all 3 books or if it would be much better to do the investment in the Critical thinking ones
  5. DS has not done any critical thinking or logic studies. I am not sure where he is on his critical thinking level...maybe starting out easy with Lollipop and moving up might be a way to go...or I don't know. Maybe I underestimate him and I could handle something bigger like Logic Safari or the Primary Critical Minds book.
  6. I haven't seen any in my edition..but I have National Geographic Little Kids so maybe that is different. Also NWF.org does 3 levels of kids science magazines...Ranger Rick, Big Backyard (we get this) and Wild Animal Baby.
  7. Does anyone have any opinions on either one...what is different or similar (if you have seen both?)
  8. I used a book from Christian Liberty Press for a while for my kinder kiddo and I had to toss it finally....it was more religious than scientific. I've used the BFSU book and am on the Yahoo list and I like it very much...I think it is great and very well written. I don't use it anymore because I am too lazy to go and get stuff every week when I have a short schedule for schooling...hence why I got Noeo for next year. I thought it was a great book and its wording in the beginning didn't offend me.
  9. I don't understand why these are so much money....I love the look but the money...geez
  10. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E0C67K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?ie=UTF8&m=A3AYXX6JMF50QY I love these and the shea butter moisturizer...a little goes a long way! This is also really nice too http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HJXDZS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5
  11. So true. I agree with this on so many levels...the day may come when I have to use one of these programs and I'd rather do this then send DS to B&M school. I can still supplement, tweak somewhat, and keep an eye on friends.
  12. I'm more interested in preserving the right for a parent to choose whatever schooling is best for their family, and if that means virtual public school then so be it. Be happy that we live in a society where we can actually choose whatever option we want!
  13. Forget kids, I still watch them when the kids aren't around lol:blush:
  14. We love it here too! It is helping my son get concepts he was struggling with previously. It will be helpful when he starts RightStart as well. This program is just the thing we were needing for him!
  15. It was trial and error for me...I had no idea if spiral or mastery was better for my son, so I went for the popular Singapore Earlybird. Discovered quickly mastery is better for him, as well as hands on. Switched to Math Lessons For a Living Education, Vol. 1 and he is doing much much better so far. Once he is finished with this we will move on to RightStart A
  16. Not if they haven't left the facility yet. I believe that is what the poster is referring to...they never seem to be done with their catalogs.

  18. Already got most of next year's curriculum purchased with the exception of preschool and spanish.
  19. Who? Me??? Never! :coolgleamA:  I love that site...unit studies and lapbooks for just about anything under the sun. I enjoy their lapbook kits too, since I'm lazy and they've done the work for me for the most part...you could easily save money if you didn't want that portion. We did their pirates (Ahoy Matey!) lapbook for our unit study, now we're moving on to the Titanic one and I really like it...lots of good stuff in it.
  20. when my ex left I stayed with friends for two weeks. I couldn't bear to go back into that home. AFter two weeks my kids got back and then I stayed with my parents a few more days until my apt was ready.
