  1. DH's whole family and we are making into an annual event. But we camp at Ft Wilderness for 4ish days and have yet to buy a park pass. At the campsite, there are movie nights, a pool and splash park, playgrounds, and you can take a ferry anywhere and hop on the monorail. There's lots of us to do without actually going to a theme park. The oldest kids are only 3 now, but might go to the Magic Kingdom next year or the year after (kids will be 5, 5, 3, and 2). ETA: All our family lives in FL, north of Tampa. We're the only ones out of state, and we're just in GA, easy drive.
  2. Usually it does verify. Maybe get a cheap Visa gift card and use that.
  3. If it were me, if leave the decision up to your brother. Does he even want his ex there...?
  4. It used to be a big deal to try to not name cousins the same name. But. I have a brother named Chris. A year after he was born, my aunt and uncle adopted a year old baby named Chris. So, two Chris', with birthdays two months apart. They grew up great friends, and now no one cares about names. :)

Santa always uses wrapping paper that has his picture on it, that way we know who it's from!
  6. I have an OXO one that holds a 5 lb bag of flour! I love it! But it isn't decorative, if that's what you're aiming for...
  7. I would love to put the non-Santa gifts out as they're wrapped, but my kids are too young to be staring at pretty paper and resist diving in. :)
  8. I have a file box that contains all manuals, receipts, and warranties for everything from a water spout timer to the oven to the lawn mower. Everything is filed under its "common" name (what we call it, not necessarily its technical name). So, I voted for T.
  9. Recently, I made a 9x13 baking dish, 1/3 chopped red potatoes, 1/3 chicken breasts, 1/3 frozen green beans and shook lemon pepper seasoning over all of it. Roast it for 45-55min at 375. Or send it uncooked to stick in the freezer.
  10. I often get the, "One of each! Looks like you're all set!" type comments. They wouldn't say that if they could see all the baby stuff in my attic! :)
  11. I did when we fist got married. It was a habit left over from my mom: my dad was an Air Force pilot, and she got up with him every morning at 5:30am. She told me that "being a pilot, I never know the last time I'll get to have bfast with him." I don't now just because I'm sleep deprived with a baby. I anticipate doing so again when the kids are older. And I do make his lunch; I put together leftovers when cleaning up from dinner for the next days lunch. But DH does pack it up with an apple and some mints in the morning.
  12. Had some great phone conversations in the recent past, including Old Navy, Geico, and my kids' pediatrician's billing office (believe it or not!).

Kirsten is up in my closet right now! Though it has been a while since I played with her. DD is only 1, so maybe I will again soon! ;)
  14. I like to at least every other year. We have a lot of long distance family, so it's a nice way to say "hi". Also, I like to receive cards, so I figure I should send them too.
  15. I was gf for most of the past year because my breastfeeding DD had a wheat/gluten sensitivity. Now at 13 mo, she seems to have out grown it. I'm so happy I can eat wheat again!!! (I had also taken dairy and tomatoes out, but shed fine with those now too!)
  16. Have him see what real poor looks like. Volunteer and donate to food pantries and the like. Talk about poverty in Africa and in your hometown. Take DH with you when you can.
  17. Got DS a Strider balance bike for last Christmas (2.5 yo). He is a PRO at it now, can glide/balance for long distances, fast or slow, just like you see on the YouTube videos. Highly recommended. And Trek makes helmets that fit little ones 1-3 yrs old.
  18. If your concerned, I'd call her pediatrician or my OBGYN to see what they say.
  19. I have a friend with celiacs, and Dominoes has enough gluten to make her sick. The crust itself might be "gluten free", but I'm sure it get contaminated along the way. I suppose it depends on WHY you're gluten free.
  20. I voted other on the dislike list because I had to put something for the website to accept my vote. Sorry. :/
  21. I have this one. Works for me! http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005ZA78G4/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1353440647&sr=8-4&pi=SL75
