  1. Please anyone out there that lives in the area, I need your wisdom. We will be looking at schools the first part of June when we head up there, but its always better to hear from people that know the schools. Thank you again.
  2. Brandee, Thank you, for the school in Auburn. I need a school that serves 1st-8th. It looks like the school site you sent is for high school. Thank you
  3. She is getting a divorce and moving closer to work, which is in Auburn. I personally think she should leave him in that school because it is the only stable place for him at this time. In the last two years he has lost his baby brother at 3months old and his grandfather just last Sept. But we cann't force her to stay in that area.
  4. Hi everyone, I am not sure if this is were I should post this question but I'm still new to this board. My husband's ex-wife is relocating and she is wanting to put their son in a private school. We live in Oregon so we don't know anything about the schools in the Federal Way or Auburn area of Washington. I'm asking this group for some info on any of the schools in that area. The ex has looked at Brooklake, she thinks this is the best choice. If anyone has any input to help us with this, I would really enjoy hearing about the schools in Washington, also the public schools in that area she stated he would be given a choice later if he wanted to stay in private school. He currently goes to Lighthouse Christian School in Gig Harbor. Thank you for your help and input. Kristi
  5. Hi everyone, I am not sure if this is were I should post this question but I'm still new to this board. I will post this on the general board also. 6. I have been debating on starting my dd(10) in the R&S 4 English, we are finishing Easy Grammer 4. She has done well in EG but I think she needs to be pushed a little more, maybe. EG has been great for her using the prepostional approach. I have not used the old EG books but I was think if I went this direction I would use EG 5/6, since they are selling the overstock of TM's. Any one have a thought? Thank you Kristi
  7. Thank you all for your replies. I have ordered all I need for next year from R&S, and the only thing I have left in her curriculum is English. I am not sure if I should stay with Easy Grammer or move toward R&S English. Any suggestions?
  8. My dd is 10. We currently use R&S Math, Bible and Spelling. I have just ordered R&S Science 4 for next year. I have been thinking about R&S English, she is currently using Easy Gram 4 and Daily Gram 4. I have also just ordered R&S Music 1,2,3 and 4, I have never taught music but thought this would give us the basics on reading music. Last year we did R&S Health 4 grade, and we enjoyed that. My dd is having trouble in spelling so I was thinking of using something else, just not sure what. Or maybe just add a phonics type program. Thank you all, I will check out the yahoo group. Kristi DD (10) DD (almost 2) DS (7mon)
  9. I second, above post from Abbeyej. Just have fun. He will love to learn if he has a say in what he is learning. I would add a Bible studies or stories because you don't get that in Public school.
  10. Has anyone used all of R&S curriculm? How did it go? Were you happy with the end results? My curriculum seems to be headed this direction and I just want some input. What did you like or not like? Thanks Kristi
  11. What I have planned so far and if I stop reading everyones plans So far for dd(10): R&S Math 5 R&S Spelling 5 may repeat 4 Easy Grammer 5 with Daily Grams 5 or maybe R&S English 4 R&S Bible 5 SOTW 2 Pathway Readers 4 and 5 with workbooks R&S Science 4 (still not sure on this) for dd(2) reading, reading, reading ABC's, colors and numbers anything to keep her busy so dd(10) can get her stuff done for dd(1) reading, reading, reading learning to walk and anything to keep him busy so dd(10) can get her stuff done
  12. The best advice I can give is take sometime off. It won't hurt your childs education. I took my dd out of public school at the end of her third grade year and wish I would have had more then just the summer to adjust. Remember that this is a new step for both of you. Go slow. There will be many difficult days ahead but in the end it is worth it.
  13. Thank you for the advise. DD is 10 going on 11 and I was think of starting her in the 4th grade book we have done no formal science. She did get some in public school which she went until the third grade. So maybe I should just start her in the 3rd grade book at the begining of the set. What do you all think? Thanks Kristi
