Whether we're road tripping, setting up in a single location for an extended period, or something in between - our trips are always food centered. Taco crawls in San Diego, ALL the chiles in NM, Italian beef/hot dogs/deep dish in Chicago, poke/Portuguese sausage/moko loko/malasadas in HI, giant steaks in WY, BBQ in TX, fried chicken (and all the creole/cajun classics) in NOLA, etc... We can all endure anything (one likes art stuff, one likes science stuff, one likes shopping, one likes outdoorsy stuff) if we have a meal to look forward to.
Oldest is currently building a google map full of UK restaurants that look interesting. We'll build a trip around those when they graduate. That's how it always starts for us - a map full of restaurants that we then find some stuff nearby to do in between meals, lol.
