  1. You can’t go wrong with King of Tokyo. You play Godzilla/King Kong type monsters trying to take over Tokyo. You roll dice to attack your opponents, buy cards that give you abilities, or heal yourself. We own over 200 board games and this one is a family favorite. https://smile.amazon.com/IELLO-King-Tokyo-Board-Game/dp/B01F46RPS4/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1542337836&sr=1-1&keywords=King+of+Tokyo
  2. My daughter was tongue tied. She was nursing and growing well but it was somewhat painful for me. We were referred to an ENT who said we could clip it then (she was a couple months old) but would probably have to come back for further surgery when she was 2 or we could wait a few months until she was older and do the surgery and be done with it. We waited and she had surgery when she was 5 months old. I was worried she wouldn’t be able to nurse right away after surgery and pumped a lot ahead of time but she ended up nursing just fine. Here’s what hers looked like... https://flic.kr/p/55Brgu
  3. I know that this is an old thread but this is something I've struggled with for 15 years and I hope this can help someone. Mine was the result of undiagnosed athlete's foot spreading to my nail. I've tried various treatments throughout the years with little success. Tea tree oil, Vick's, Emu oil, ACV foot soaks, nothing worked. I'm happy to say I've found something that is finally working. It's called Fungus Stop and I got it on Amazon. It's oil of oregano in a bottle with a brush and an oral gel cap. I don't know if it's the type of oil or the fact that it's treated externally and internally but it's actually working. I soaked my foot in warm water and apple cider vinegar and clipped the nail way back and use the Stop fungus oil twice a day and take 1 pill daily and my nail is halfway grown back and is pink and healthy, finally! https://www.amazon.com/Fungus-Stop-COMPLETE-Nail-Solution/dp/B01IR6YNVU/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1498754212&sr=8-4&keywords=Stop+fungus
  4. For books there's also Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney. https://www.amazon.com/Miss-Rumphius-Barbara-Cooney/dp/0140505393 If you can get to Acadia National Park it's incredible and worth the trip. There's a great bakery that sells the best Whoopie Pies in Freeport or near Augusta in Farmingdale. https://www.wickedwhoopies.com
  5. YNAB (You Need A Budget). It's changed the way we spend money, for the better!
  6. I enjoy NPR's StoryCorps http://www.npr.org/podcasts/510200/storycorps "StoryCorps travels the country collecting the stories of everyday people, who get to take the microphone and interview each other about their lives. Each week, the StoryCorps podcast shares these unscripted conversations, revealing the wisdom, courage, and poetry in the words of people you might not notice walking down the street."
  7. Definitely! That's a good way to rack up points. It's great when you pick a new destination route and it's part of something you already completed. Love this game.
  8. In that case I'd recommend this one...http://smile.amazon.com/Canon-50mm-1-8-Camera-Lens/dp/B00007E7JU/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1410999961&sr=8-5&keywords=canon+35mm
  9. If you're not really interested in the undertaking of "learning" photography but want to take better pictures I suggest getting a prime lens and using aperture priority mode. You'll be able to take sharply focused pictures in lower light. If you share what camera body you have I can make some suggestions. :)
  10. I highly recommend OpenDNS Family Shield. It's easy, free and we set it up through our router so all wifi connected devices are covered. https://store.opendns.com/setup/#/familyshield
  11. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Page Plus. We've used them for the last 2 years and have been very happy. They use Verizon towers and have several affordable phone plans. We go through the reseller Kitty Wireless as they re-up our plan for us each month. Great customer service too. https://www.pagepluscellular.com/plans/ http://www.kittywireless.com
  12. This scripture may be of some comfort to you...“Be in subjection to your own husbands, in order that, if any are not obedient to the word, they may be won without a word through the conduct of their wives, because of having been eyewitnesses of your chaste conduct together with deep respect.†(1 Peter 3:1, 2)
  13. I agree with the previous poster. I'd suggest a refurbished 16gb iPad mini from the Apple store. You'll be able to use previously purchased apps and you'll already be familiar with how to use it. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/ipad/ipad_mini/wi_fi
  14. I love Amazon! Does everyone know about camelcamelcamel.com? It's an Amazon price tracking website. You can see the price history of items but my favorite part is that you can set price watches. Just put in the price that you want to pay for an item and when/if it's available at that price you'll get an email. I've saved lots of money this way. :) http://camelcamelcamel.com
  15. Overstock.com, big selection, great prices and free shipping :)
  16. I'm not sure about the stickiness but I know when we installed groutable vinyl tile the subfloor needed to be primed first. It prevents the sticky adhesive from absorbing into the floor.
  17. Hi, I didn't read every comment posted but I thought I'd share my curly hair routine. I'm posting links but I'm not sure they'll show up correctly since I'm on my iPad. As a stay at home Mom with one income and 4 kids I don't like to spend a lot on hair products but of course I want my hair to look good. My solution is shopping at Sally Beauty Supply. They have stores all over and you can also shop on their website. http://www.sallybeauty.com. I wash with the kids Suave tear free shampoo. I don't like to no poo personally. Then I use the generic Biolage Conditioning Balm conditioner http://www.sallybeauty.com/conditioning-balm/SBS-264074,default,pd.html It's nice and moisturizing but not to heavy for me. I leave it in while I wash my body, shave my legs, etc. I comb out the tangles with a wide tooth comb and rinse. I squeeze out excess water but leave my hair fairly wet but not drippy. I use a leave in conditioner called Kinky Curly Knot Today which I can buy at Target. http://www.target.com/p/kinky-curly-knot-today-leave-in-conditioner-detangler-8-oz/-/A-13044269#prodSlot=medium_1_2 Next I use a curling cream called Beyond The Zone Noodle Head. This is great at cutting down on frizz. After that I use Beyond The Zone Spike It Gel http://www.sallybeauty.com/Spiking-Gel/SBS-140610,default,pd.html?cgid=Hair04 ,it's a strong hold gel but not crunchy. While my hair is thick in that there's a lot of it the individual hairs are fine and need a strong hold gel to hold the curls. I immediately diffuse my hair upside down with this blow dryer http://www.amazon.com/Conair-Fusion-Ionic-Ceramic-Styler/dp/B00AM7BSXO/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2L9TCKTUT8WUU&coliid=I2YXMV4ORZUGJB, until it's about 75% dry and let it air dry the rest of the way. Then I'll scrunch out any crunch and am good to go!
  18. Aww, this has me crying too! As the Mom of an 8 year old autistic son I can totally picture this situation. Here's her blog entry with the response from Jedi. :) http://writeshesays.wordpress.com/2013/06/22/return-of-the-jedi/
  19. I had Virgin Mobile before but the coverage was not great here. I've since switched to Page Plus and love it! They use the Verizon network and the coverage is very good. I have an iPhone 4 on the $29.95 plan with 1200 minutes, 3000 texts and 500mb of data. If you are interested in Page Plus I recommend using the reseller Kitty Wireless. They have an autopay plan where they'll re-up your plan for you each month. Page Plus only has access to 3G so iPhone 4 or 4S only, or a jail broken 5.
  20. Lots of great suggestions! Another game I didn't see mentioned is Quoridor. It's a nicely made wooden game that can be 2, 3 or 4 players. Lots of strategy involved and it doesn't take too long to play. http://www.amazon.com/Gigamic-5203-Quoridor-Classic-Game/dp/B00001NTXN Quoridor is a delightful strategy game for 2, 3 or 4 players that takes less than 10 minutes to play. On each turn you need to decide whether to move your pawn ahead one space or foil your opponent's progress by a carefully placed fence. Your goal is to be first to move your pawn across the board. Other players will seek to place obstacles in your path. This forces additional moves to navigate around the fences. You also can place blocking fences to foil your opponent's forward progress.
  21. We recently put a new floor in our kitchen and our main concerns were affordability and durability. We ended up putting in a groutable vinyl tile from Home Depot called Trafficmaster Ceramica. It's a sticky tile but much more substantial than the typical vinyl tile. You can grout it and it's really hard to tell without touching it that it's not ceramic. And because it's vinyl, not ceramic, it's pretty forgiving if your floors aren't perfectly even.
  22. I'd also recommend the Pirate Museum, lots of fun! http://www.piratesoul.com/ . We enjoyed Fort Matanzas too. It was free and there's a boat ride to the fort. Marineland was fun too. Feeding/interacting with the dolphins is pricy but you can just go and look around for less.
  23. I've found this list to be very useful in determining what to feed our piggies and how often. :) http://www.guineapigcages.com/food/Veggie-and-Fruit-Charts.pdf
  24. I think your dog grooming looks good! We have an English Springer Spaniel who requires regular grooming and it's so expensive. We ended up finding an awesome series of step by step videos on You Tube. We bought a good set of clippers and some blades and can now groom her better than the expensive place :) Definitely check out You Tube if you think it would help.
  25. I think you probably could. We traveled Amtrak in March and things were pretty lax. They didn't check our tickets until we were on the train and never checked ID's at all.
