  1. Well I'm from PA so STEELERS it is, but they're not my first choice team.
  2. Actually, I don't :blushing: live in Austin. I didn't think of that when I picked my user name. My actual name was already taken and everyone had such cute names (which were already taken, lol). I was petting my dog, Austin, and drinking a cup of tea and that equals user name. :D I don't think well under pressure, lol.
  3. We are using TOG Year 2 and it just isn't working for us. We haven't gotten too far because it seems like we can't get a handle on it and we have had some problems getting things from the library. I ended up buying more of the books to get us through the first unit. I don't feel like my dd (10th grade) has learned anything. I'm ready to throw it out! I am really wishing I would have just gone with Sonlight. I don't know what to do or how to save this year of school. Any advice?
  4. I think hearing why your doctor did or wants to do a c-section is one of the best things you can do. I had one with my first and I'm not sure exactly why so I don't know if it could have been prevented or not. With my second I was thinking that I would be having another c-section but in the last couple months before my due date my doctor talked to me about my fears and his reasoning for thinking I should try a vbac. He assured me that as soon as I was at the hospital in labor that an OR would be made ready in case I needed it. Philothea, All of that basically to say, I would talk to your doctor/midwife and the doctor who wants to see you to see what the reasons are and to discuss your concerns with them. A solution that is pleasing to all of you may be able to be reached. I'll be wishing the best for you.
  5. My oldest dd and my youngest dd were both born on May 7 twelve years apart. My middle dd was born on my dads 50th birthday. I thought it was weird.
  6. There were a few Candace/Candy(s) around where I live. Its kinda funny, since I grew up with hearing that name a lot, I never thought anything about it.
  7. :iagree: I haven't had a problem since I started using butter flavor Crisco. Before that, they always went flat.
  8. My friend's dog was sprayed and she said the only thing that worked to get the smell out of her dog was a Massengill douche. Hope you can get the smell out.
  9. I live about 45 min. to an hour from St. College, we take my mom's cat to a vet there. I don't find the regulations to be that hard. Keep a list of what you do every day to show at the end of the year along with samples of the work done, have that looked at by an evaluator (there are a lot in the St. College area), get the letter from the evaluator and turn that (plus the stuff you showed the evaluator) into the superintendent. It's a bunch of paper work but not difficult. I use Homeshool Tracker and mark the things done and then print it out at the end of the year. HTH
  10. My dh had a job interview last week and they told him not to be concerned if it takes two - three weeks before he hears from them. The waiting is hard.
  11. Accounts from the Loud and the Messy The Loud and Messy Cottage under the Mushroom - okay I threw this one in because for some reason your cottage made me think of mushrooms. :001_huh: Good luck in finding a name.
  12. Very nice! I've thought about starting a blog but then I think I wouldn't have anything to say, or what if no one reads it, or what if it isn't any good, or well, you get the idea. Congrats for taking the plunge and being braver than I am.
  13. We bought a set of books from them. Well, actually my dh did. It was a few weeks after my dd was born and I had to have some minor surgery as an out patient. I was in bed still out of it when the college boy came to our door. Dh figured that since we homeschool it would be great. He did come in and ask me but I would have told him to buy anything the way I felt :001_huh:. We really haven't used them though. I try, but no luck.
