  1. I'm sorry, but that's kind of funny . Poor kid, lol. The police wanted us to be sure it wasn't one of our kids, but I just don't see my kids ordering Zoobles .
  2. Okay, so the police just left. They said that because the packages were ordered with our numbers and shipped to our address, they won't be able to do anything because they can't show "intent". He also said that situations like this aren't a priority because of that reason, and thieves are savvy to that. He also said that there are over 500 reports of this exact situation in a 'burb on the other side of town that just came in this month :001_huh:. So...yeah. One package showed up today, but the other still hasn't arrived. According to the company from where they came, we can just send them back for a refund, which we'll do. However, I'm not too crazy about some thief hanging out, watching my house - if that is the case. The posters who suggested "test" purchases sounds a little better me.
  3. A package arrived at our house this morning that we didn't order. The order was paid for by our card and shipped to our address. When I called the company (from whom we've never ordered), they said all the address and card info was the same, but the email was slightly different (the email used the first part of our address, but it was @ somewhere else). When we checked our bank statement, there was another, larger order placed at the same company yesterday, to be shipped to our address. So, now that we've frozen that account, and dh is on the phone with the police to file a report, why in the world would someone use our card to ship products to our house? Why wouldn't they just change the ship-to address? Hanging out with the doors locked...
  4. So glad he is okay. :grouphug: I have a shellfish allergy, and for some stupid reason I'm allergic to pine nuts (but no other nuts) and the other day the sandwich I ordered came with pine nut laden pesto - not so cool. While I'm not as severe as your son, I do know how scary it can be, and it must be even scarier for Mom. Big Fat :grouphug: to you all.
  5. Oh no - she is the absolute antithesis of someone like that. She is very religious - I think Apostolic or Pentecostal (or maybe both over the years).
  6. What does she do that makes you think "Hmm, I don't like this woman"? Does she interfere? Does she still mother your dh? Does she mother your children? Do you not trust her surface "niceness"?
  7. The last book I listened to was The Help, and it was very well done. I just went to see the movie with my MIL and she loved it. That might be something. Are you looking for just one as a gift?
  8. You know, when I first read the thread, I read it as conversation and the snarky posts didn't sound so snarky in that context. But reading it back as a whole, I agree with the above post, and feel compelled to apologize to many of the posters who put themselves out there to give advice - many of the posts that followed do seem kind of jr high and nasty. While it is not really my style to take such things personally (and knowing the nature of the board), I sincerely hope the other nice people who posted aren't offended by those posts.
  9. I did see the humor of those posts, and they did not upset me - I got it, however over the line the may have been at times (coughcoughbillcoughcough;)) I also want to make it known that I do feel that something...else...is going on with this situation, and I am truly grateful to all who put themselves out here to give me advice - I am finding it very helpful in deciding what to do (both those through PMs and those who responded here). This is a touchy subject; I understand that. I get the "chill out" posts, I get the "get real" posts, I get the dowsing posts, and I get the "call a priest" posts. I plan to do all of them. The diverse opinions and views are what makes me appreciate you all so. I also want to express my thanks to you all for not getting the thread shut down (;)), because I really wanted your advice.
  10. Nope, not at all crushed, lol. I do want to thank everyone for sharing their thoughts (from both sides - it is what I asked for) - I really do appreciate it, and I appreciate you all (or I wouldn't have come here with my...conundrum).
  11. I'm really not sure we were ever quite "on" the ceiling. And I'm pretty glad we survived the night, too :tongue_smilie:. Really, I can't imagine any logical individual just "jumps" to possibilities such as this first off. Nearly every other realistic, physical possibility is considered before someone begins to consider something else. At least, that is what happened here. At any rate, neither dh nor I is "convinced" of anything, it's just that there are a lot of unanswered questions and some things make more sense than others, but unfortunately I really can't share the whole story here (which stinks because I think it would be helpful information for those of you who are offering your thoughts and advice). The sister of the visitor visted today. She is a medium. No, really - talk about weird experiences. And she knows what's going on w/her sister. And she's really concerned about her.
  12. That's another complicated question I can't answer in detail here. No, she's definitely not a devil worshiper - she's extremely religious.
  13. Well, that is a complicated part. Without going into too much detail, he is a...client, I suppose. We can't suggest his family not visit him. Or to leave their baggage at the door :tongue_smilie:.
  14. Hmm. One more thing about the dog that dh just pointed out to me - we have had three dogs in the 12 years we have lived here. She is the only one who has never gone into that area of the house. Since she was a puppy, she refuses to enter those spaces, and when she gets near, she acts all freaky. The others just happily run around, but not her. Ever.
  15. See, that's where the story gets too detailed for me to post here. To be honest, I'm pretty sure she knows. I also think most of her family knows (at least some of them do). At any rate, she's coming back to visit again tomorrow.
  16. I know. And *I'm* not silly (well, not really), and neither is dh. Last week I would agree with you. This week...I just don't know.
  17. Geeze, Bill! I get what you are saying - really I do - but this situation is really odd. Actually, I've gotten some very thoughtful advice and I'm grateful to those who have taken the time to offer it; it's why I came here with the situation.
  18. Dh is standing over my shoulder agreeing with you - for the most part. He says what he saw was a flash, small and near the floor...super fast. Three times. He feels like whatever he saw might have been just following her around. He's pretty convinced something very wrong happened there, and it wasn't headlights or any other trick of the eye. Possibly *she* attracted whatever it was that he saw (and he's certain he saw it or them) and whatever it was follows her around? Thank you to those of you are trying to help us figure this out - it is so incredibly weird.
