  1. You can make a box of special toys that are only to be played w/ during school time. That way they are novel and will (hopefully) keep the child busy while you are doing school. Also, you can try to include the 3 y/o whenever possible. I print worksheets off the internet for my 4 y/o to trace and color when I am doing school w/ my 6 y/o and it usually keeps him quite busy. You can expect interruptions. Lots of them :D If the 3 y/o naps, you can get lots accomplished then. You may need to spread your day out more, taking advantages of quiet time or do some "school" in the evening after the little one has left for the day. Good Luck! I find the preschool age group to be harder to homeschool w/ than toddlers. They chatter so much and seek so much attention :)
  2. We are currently using WWE by itself with another LA program, but I am considering using it combined with FLL next year as I understand the two go together very well. At first I didn't like the look of it at all, but we are really enjoying WWE. If you are using the program, I would love to hear your thoughts about what you like about the program or what you don't like. TIA!
  3. I'm trying to decide for next year. RS works well for us for math, but I am at a loss for the rest of the subjects. What are you using?
  4. If I decide to go w/ PLL, do I need to supplement spelling?
  5. And why? I'm trying to decide for my son for next year (gr 2). He's a wiggly willy, workbook hater. Is one better than the other or should I consider something else completely different? Also, if you are using PLL or QLL do you supplement with any other LA curriculum. TIA!
  6. We are not using FLL but I just started WWE1 with my first grader who is very workbook phobic and writing resistant (unless it is on his own initiative). He has also always struggled w/ fine motor skills. We are only a few weeks in, but so far it has been going well. I find the methods very gentle and I am amazed to already be seeing results!
  7. Thanks for your helpful advice! I was thinking of using QLL instead of PLL as it really appeals to me. Did you supplement w/ spelling at all, or is it adequately covered?
  8. For those who have used it, do you follow their LA or do you supplement? I was looking at the grade 2 sample and it seems light for LA. just wondering if it works?
  9. so do you think my Kinder kid could keep up with the 2nd grade material?
  10. I have been eyeing this curriculum next year to use w/ my K and 2nd grade kids. I have read some reviews that suggest that some of the books are advanced. Just wondering if this curriculum is true to grade? I want to combine my kiddos next year (w/ separate LA and Math). LBC's website suggests placing combined ages at the highest grade, but I was wondering if it would be better to split the difference and place them both at grade 1. My Kinder kid could probably handle the grade 1 LA, my 2nd grader would have a separate LA program and could probably do some of the reading to my youngers. Thoughts?
