  1. Nobody drove her off. She was asked an honest question, and once again, instead of responding in a level-headed, open-minded way she became defensive. If you spit on your hostess enough times, eventually you're bound to be escorted out, no matter how valid what your point.

And that's kind of a cheap, unnecessary remark at the end of your post implying that Christians would find it desirable to drive off someone they didn't agree with. Uninformed and assumptive as well.

Yeah, history doesn't bear that out at all.

  2. I am not surprised that GG got banned. She was posting on her own site and other sites that we were a bunch of mindless, bible thumping bi*ches. I was personally offend, especially since I appreciate the diversity of religion and opinion on this board. I am not a christian and I feel welcome here.

I always wondered if she hated this site so much, why she hung out here. This whole incident makes me sad for her.

She hung out here because she genuinely liked and respected most of the people here, and enjoyed discussing and debating the myriad of topics that arise. The "we" was most definitely not all-inclusive. I think many of us would agree that there are a few holier-than-thous here who might think about rereading Matt. 7:3 and applying it once in awhile.

If folks would look back over GG's old posts as I did, they would realize that she had a lot of interesting things to say, often spoke out about respecting the differing views of others, and was only ornery when cornered, like most of us are. :)

She was invited to go elsewhere on more than one occasion (and you know who you are), and was constantly being anonymously criticized, and *this* is what aggravated her, NOT the board itself or the honest people on it. I think most folks would agree that the last altercation was provoked and nothing but downright nasty; can you say 'witch-hunt'? I wonder how it feels to have driven an "undesirable" off the boards. Not very christian in my book... or then again, maybe it is.

  3. I use the Fluidity ballet bar because I want to look like my dd, the ballet dancer, with her long, beautiful muscles. :) One of the things the creator of the system believes is that you should always stretch a muscle after you work it. The stretches are very much like yoga poses, and are done immediately after working each muscle. Apparently, it is this stretching that gives ballet dancers their long, lean muscles rather than the short, bulky muscles you see in body builders.

  4. We don't turn on the tv before 8pm, and I plan tv the same way I plan lessons. On Sunday, I go online to a tv listings site, scroll through the week and pick out whatever educational shows I think the kids should watch. I write them down on the calendar. Then, that's what we watch. If there's nothing on, we don't turn on the tv. We were falling into the mindless channel-flipping trap; this has solved that. My kids are older than yours, I believe, so they stay up later. We usually go to bed around 10. You could modify the times for your own family. I would say we watch about ten hours per week, which I don't consider an unreasonable amount.

  5. No idea on long term research, but my youngest three boys have had sealants and we haven't had a cavity since. My oldest son predates sealants and has several cavities. He's the only one. I don't regret having it done with the younger boys.

Here, too. Just be careful of popcorn. My dd likes to chew the unpops if I don't catch her, and she has cracked her sealants. :glare:
