  1. thanks for the suggestions. I haven't had her screened by a developmental optometrist before. I'll have to look into that. I did a lot of her writing last year, but have had her white me this year hoping it would help her, but I think it's been frustrating for her. I'm going to back off of writing for math. She's so good at math, I don't want her to resent it because she struggles with writing.
  2. she had had her vision checked. She had been behind on fine motor skills though, so maybe it's a matter of time.
  3. I don't know what to do with my 2nd grade daughters handwriting. We've used Zaner-bloser and Pentime workbooks. I've also had her do copywork along side WWE and still it's like chicken scratch. Every day I have her copy 1 sentence in her most perfect writing she can do before we move onto the next activity and still it's awful. She does try hard but writing is just does not come easy for her. I'm not sure what to try next. Any suggestions on what I should try with her? curriculum, workbooks, ideas?

  7. How many lessons does the publisher suggest to do a week? How long will it take to work through 1 book? For the early elementary books Apples, butterflies etc.
  8. What are some books you enjoyed that would be good to go along with the 1600-1850 late renaissance/early modern time frame? If I was to stick to the rotation. Either to be read by a 1st and 3rd grader or to be read too. I look at the list suggested in the well trained mind and have no idea where to start. They all look daunting. Suggestions?
  9. We have enjoyed these games for math: Tri facta, math war, and speed multiplication game.

  12. What have you done to help your kids get the most out of the program? Do you add anything to it or use the program as a complete program? How long/or how many lessons do you have the kids do a day?
  13. What are some of your favorite extras to add to your homeschool? Like using spelling city to enhance your spelling lessons, using a butterfly raising kit with your science lessons. Things like that. What have to done to make your lessons more fun and enjoyable.

  20. I like your schedule. A lot of the things you are using, we are as well. Thanks for sharing. I've been trying to figure out a doable schedule that works around my babies nap and dr appointments. I think I"m just going to have to take charge of those appointments out of the house and compact them to only one day a week or I will go crazy trying to get everything dome. My daughters are kindergarten and 2nd grade this coming schooling year. I'm looking forward to it and a little worried to. 2 are officially homeschooling this year. I guess it's the real deal now. Let's see how I juggle two schooling and 1 needing baby. I'm looking forward to it.
  21. My daughters are 2 grades apart and I was thinking about teaching them together. Math would probably be seperate. History, science, and reading would be easy, but what about the other subjects? Edited to add: my daughters are in kindergarten and 2nd grade this next school year.
