  1. Oh, my kids are 9, 7, 4, 3, and 18 months. Not much real experience but we're all willing to give our best! :)
  2. I would be interested in this as well. We love art here and I wish I could find more time to incorporate it! We have access to most supplies; heavy weight art paper, watercolor paper, acrylic paint, watercolor paints (in tubes), tempera paint, brushes with plastic bristles and camel hair bristles, beeswax modeling clay and crayons, yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, wool yarn, looms, the list goes on. If there's something we're missing, as you can tell, we'll just go get it. There's a strong possibility that I have craft ADD. If you add in some Waldorf lust you are left with lots of supplies and not much actual art. :tongue_smilie:
  3. Would any of these be similar? http://Penmanship-Paper
  4. I'm in IL and we do have to teach health. I don't worry so much about a formal curriculum though. I've used Abeka Health for first and second grade and they are an easy read. There are a few questions spattered throughout and that's about it. Short and simple. For this year though I just found some online resources and we are reading books that correspond with them. We've done experiments for teeth and some lessons on nutrition. I don't put too much emphasis on it because we basically talk about health all the time. I figure that my kids are probably getting more "health" than the kids in public school do.
  5. I caught my microwave on fire recently popping popcorn in a paper sack. :(
  6. I had the same problem with her Road Trip USA curriculum. There was just so much that is included that we could spend all day doing it and not accomplish anything else! It also got very monotonous because each state was almost the exact same things with the occasional something extra thrown in to take even longer. I decided against EE after trudging through Road Trip.
  7. Thanks! This looks like something my daughter will really enjoy!
  8. My name is Tami. Mine is a typical nickname and it's spelled differently. I've had just about everyone ask me at some point if it's short for anything. Now I tell people my name is Tami T-a-m-i. My second daughter is named Abby. I had to laugh one day when she was asked if her name was short for Abigail and she answered, "no, why would it be?" :)
  9. Glue sticks. Elmer's are the best but the cheapo ones are great for younger siblings. Pencils. I'm not positive but I think my kids eat them. Pink Pearl Erasers. If I find a great deal, I stock up. These are the best erasers. Dry Erase Markers. Find out which ones you like to use and then buy your kids their own cheap brand! Little kids will ruin a good dry erase marker in no time flat! Paper. Can't really live without it. Binders. Just because I *heart* organization! :D
