  1. 1. If you are applying for a personal asst. job, do you confirm the appt 24 hrs. prior, to make yourself look good, or does that make it look like they are not on their game?????

    2. If its a real estate company , and you want to impress w/info, how do you keep all of it in your brain, like sales etc.... or what is most impressive to know about agent or company?

  2. The standard advice is that all of your foster kids should be younger than your youngest.

Having (briefly) been a foster parent, I would say that your oldest foster child should be at least 5 years younger than your youngest child. This is, I think, a reasonable precaution to protect your bio kids from the violent or sexual behavior that a foster child may display.

This a great suggestion, coming from a family who fostered kids, and back in the day they were older, by about 10 years, it was a nightmare. i cannot express what damge this caused having older foster children in my home. Extremely abusive kids passing along the abuse they learned.

  3. :iagree: We love Victoria...it's one of our favorite places! We haven't taken the kids yet. I'm sure the ferry ride would be fun for them, we usually go in July and just enjoy touring the streets and looking at all the gorgeous flowers and greenery. I remember they have a miniature museum, we toured an old monastery I believe...have fun! We also love Olympia, WA..it's not too far from Seattle.

  4. This is why despite me slowly losing my sanity here with my oldest I will not send my kids. On paper the school in my town sounds great in terms of class sizes etc BUT the violence and bullying, drugs and alcohol etc are rampant. I am seeing it more in this small town school than any I saw in teh big city school near where I was. Definitely younger ages involved in it all than what I was used to seeing. As it is my kids can barely go around town without being harassassed or assaulted, I can only imagine what would happen if they attended the school.

Praying for the victims of this shooting what a terrifying ordeal.

It pains me to say this and I am happy to have been able to keep my kids home all 12 years, but then they go to college and the fun begins there. Its unbelievable that this same thing carries over even into awesome colleges.

    When will the madness end.
