  1. What type of paper do you print your transcripts on? 24 lb printer paper, resume paper, security paper ...?
  2. signature? I didn't know that transcripts are uploaded until I saw another post mentioning it. I thought we snail mail a transcript. So when you upload a transcript, is the signature just typed in? Anyone tried to scan a hand signed transcript and then upload that, and did it work?
  3. Before a student graduates, there are three dates on the transcript (projected graduation date, issue date, and signature date), and issue date and signature date should match. Is that right? Months or years after graduation, when a transcript is requested, the transcript I prepare then will only have two dates: actual graduation date and signature date. The signature date will be the current date (which is months/years after graduation). Did I get all this right? Thanks.
  4. Trying System Restore to the day before the problem. Got to a window that says," Please wait... Loading your personal settings..." I have been waiting 20 minutes already. That's not normal, right?
  5. Tried plain Safe Mode. Didn't see any Start button. Will try Safe Mode with Networking.
  6. I have received junk mail from my own email address. What do I need to do?
  7. desktop picture and the mouse arrow. What should we do? I don't know if we have a virus or what. i read about starting with Safe Mode by pressing F8, then choosing a safe mode option... Which one should I choose? What is safe mode with networking? We can't access the internet in safe mode, right? I read about System Restore from another post. Is that my first step? Thanks for your help!
  8. Dd read on some college websites that parent-written recommendation letters are acceptable. What has your experience been? (Yes, we plan to send recommendations from non-family members also, but dd only has one non-family teacher who taught her in the first and third year of high school and one who taught her in the 2nd year.)
  9. So many students in traditional schools are counting Algebra I as a middle school course. If I count it as a high school course, wouldn't it make my student look inferior?
  10. Dd's plan to take Statistics through StateU.com fell through. (They didn't enroll her properly, and now it's too late to enroll.) What Statistics curricula are out there that she can do at home? I know Teaching Textbooks doesn't have it.
  11. Does "Make a box" mean Insert> Picture> Empty Picture Frame?
  12. I need to create a collage with 3 photos and then upload the collage as one photo to a web site. I think there are probably web sites that can help with this. Any recommendations? Is this something that can be done on Microsoft Word also?
  13. Thanks so much for looking that up, Jen. I really appreciate that since I was getting nowhere. I also found in the mean time that gethuman.com was quite helpful too. Thanks again.
  14. or one of their other products, they would have provided you a contact number (towards the end of the credit report, I think). I requested a credit report this morning, but it never showed on my computer screen. The green progress bar at the bottom of the computer screen never completed. I then went to another screen to ask to view this report for 30 days (their free offer), and now that screen is frozen! And that's not all! Earlier, on a totally different computer, I placed a Security Freeze (lost driver's license) with Equifax. Then it gave me page that says something like process completed, copy down PIN shown below. Well, there was nothing below. No PIN! To request a different PIN, I need to talk to them (and their usual fee is $10!) But I don't have a contact number! The phone numbers they put on their website don't lead to any live person! Very frustrated. If you have their number, would you please give it to me?
  15. I lost my driver's license on Thursday along with a couple of credit cards, library cards, health insurance card. I have already notified the credit card companies. bank, and libraries. I have also placed a fraud alert with the 3 credit reporting agencies like Transunion. While doing that, I learned about something called a Security Freeze. Any one has any advice on that (or anything else I should do)? Thanks. I keep praying the verse "Do not be anxious about anything, but by prayer...". But it's so difficult not to be anxious about ID theft and its ramifications.
  16. This is changing your set up a bit, but you can consider using a DIVE CD with Apologia for physical science. Here's the syllabus: http://www.diveintomath.com/clipart/9903AuWn.pdf DIVE provides formatted lab reports where the student only has to fill in the blanks, so to speak. See a sample lab activity report here: http://demos.diveintomath.com/Physicalscience/pswb13.pdf
  17. Are transcripts usually printed on nice paper? You mean like resume paper? What do you emboss on the transcript? Is embossing commonly done on transcripts?
  18. I had heard that many colleges are need-blind and was surprised to see that question on the application.
