  1. Yes. I have 10-weeks of tried and true recipes that I cycle through. Mostly the week’s dinners follows a pattern: (M)beef or fish, (T)chicken, (W)meatless, (Th)Mex/Asian/Indian + rice, (F)quick and easy, like hotdogs or BLTs, (S)soup.
  2. I subscribe to these as well. They’re soothing.
  3. We’ve mostly done the beaches, mountains, amusement parks. Lake campgrounds. Historic locations.
  4. My teens are going with friends to see it this week. They’re all planning to wear pink (even my emo, anti-pink child, lol). I had no desire to see the film, but they said I could tag along so I think I’ll go with, just to be in the know. Sounds like it may trigger some decent conversations.
  5. My kids used to love those kiddie, gem-mining tourist activities. There’s even a mobile-version in a covered wagon that came to our library once. 😂 This is the awesome, grownup version!
  6. My DH *and* the kids went to camp for a whole week. It was pretty great. I had a whole list of things I wanted to get done…but instead I binged a lot of Supernatural and ate a whole pan of brownies (over the course of the week).
  7. I don’t have a guess as to your mom’s behavior/motives, but I know I’d be ticked off. My parents would 100% call me immediately following such an encounter, especially if I had kiddos playing outside and we lived close.
  8. I’ll repeat what’s already been said: our local food pantry looks for homeschooled kids to fill 3 hour shifts during the day. May be an option. Or look for a diner/restaurant that wants someone to bus tables/work drive through for the lunch crowd.
  9. They seem awfully expensive to buy new just to be a pool. If you had one sitting around already for a farm or whatever, and then used it as a pool, it makes sense. Our local feed and seed has one out front with a sign that says “use me as a pool” but it seems much more expensive than similarly-sized, above ground pools. And they’re pretty shallow. For tiny kiddos…maybe. For big kids/teens…nah.
  10. Fwiw, I get not wanting to spend money on clothes when you’re losing weight, but IME, Columbia tends to resale pretty well. Just a consolation thought…
  11. CosRx skincare has some good reduced prices. I stocked up on a few favorites. I like/often wear my Amazon Essentials ballet flats, and since they’re reduced I picked up another color. I’ve bought a few other things with minor discounts (automatic cat food dispenser that I’ve been considering, another Dash electric egg cooker — this one is for a gift since I like mine). Some underwear and loafers were decently reduced so I ordered them to try out.
  12. Yikes. Does the apartment complex have a lot of mulch around the exterior? I’ve found we have more palmetto bugs when they have lots of mulch to live in. Not that she can change that…. 😞
  13. Not much! My kids and DH are away for the week, and I’m just eating random things from the pantry. So far I’ve eaten watermelon and deviled eggs…that feels quite 4th of July-ish, right?!
  14. Happy anniversary! Ours is today, as well! 23 years.
  15. Yes, and I always heard it with the “and.” It was a staple meal in my early-marriage years.
  16. I love Michael Fassbender, so that gives it an advantage over other versions.
  17. Thanks! They are an artsy bunch. I know, right! I told my girls that friendship bracelets and henna tattoos were coming back around to mainstream popularity when *I* was a teen in the 90s. I remember wanting so badly to get a henna tattoo at an amusement park once. (I decided against it because…sweat. And water rides.)
  18. Everyone finished their henna and made it out of my house without any permanently-staining mishaps. And then I sat down and taught myself how to make a friendship bracelet. So now I’m prepared for next time. 😂
  19. Oh boy, they’ve moved on to henna tattoos. Some have gotten a bit carried away. I feel like I should send apology texts to their parents… eta: also, the henna-users have been banished to the kitchen but I still fear for my carpeted areas…😱
  20. …and not a one knows how to make them, lol. I prepared snacks, embroidery thread, beads, etc…but assumed they knew how to proceed from there. Ha! Luckily they’re all willing to follow YouTube tutorials on the tv (and I printed several instruction pdfs really quickly). This is for a birthday gathering for my girls — 15 & 17. They planned it all and I’ve been more of a facilitator/buyer of goods.
  21. That is amazing! What a relief for you.
  22. I’ll keep that one in mind in case the one I got doesn’t work out! I got this one, which still wasn’t super cheap but was cheap-er than others. https://www.amazon.com/Removal-Cooling-at-Home-Upgraded-Permanent/dp/B0B5ZKX19R/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=FUJSN7VG7Q6F&keywords=rose+skin+co+hair+removal+laser+lumi&qid=1687451979&sprefix=rose+ski%2Caps%2C119&sr=8-3#aw-udpv3-customer-reviews_feature_div
  23. Yeah, we fit the ideal profile for it: fair skin and dark brown hair. I’ll have to look into face usage. I’d love to take care of my “mustache” before my eyesight is too far gone, lol. Then I’ll be set for my older years. 😉
  24. Anyone have or used one of these? I know there are a few big names in the industry (Braun is one), but I recently bought a generic version with decent reviews from Amazon. But now I’m chickening out a little, lol. Share your experiences, please. Honestly, I’m past the age of really caring about body hair, but I’m going to be the guinea pig for my teens, who have more than I do.
