  1. Language Arts is my stumbling point too. I plan to purchase their book, but I'm not sold on the curriculum yet. I'll be checking them out in Cincinnati!
  2. I love my rescue dog! I suppose if I wanted to show my dog, I might invest in one, but that's not for me.
  3. I'm another Photoshop user and sell my designs at a couple of different online shops. My Pic Tales is where I usually print my books. I believe they also have software online with papers and elements where you can do more drag and drop type layouts. Cinda
  4. I just found this thread and it's been extremely helpful. Thank you all so much. I think I'm going to use Read, Write & Type with our dysgraphic eight year old next year (along with lots of other strategies). The blog posts were very enlightening. He's had trouble balancing on his bike even with training wheels. Off to research some balancing exercises!
  5. Thanks for bringing AVKO to my attention. Their Engaging Language kits look interesting.
  6. Thank you all for your answers, and Calming Tea, your post was like a cup of tea (which I happen to be drinking right now)! When I bought his handwriting curriculum this year I purchased A Reason for Handwriting transition so I'm set for cursive. I will look at Sequential Spelling. Is PLL Primary Language Lessons? I *thought* I had decided on The Complete Writing Program for both boys until it hit me that our youngest son's dislike of writing may stem from dysgraphia. Some other curriculums I'm considering are: Character Quality Language Arts; Daily 6-Trait Writing; Winning With Writing; and Write With the Best. I think it makes sense to hold off on a true writing curriculum for our 8 year old, but I need to help our 11 year old begin to polish his writing.
  7. This is our first year home schooling and I've not hit language arts very hard. Our eight year old son is still flipping some of his numbers & letters and physically doesn't like to write. We went through A Reason for Handwriting. Now we are doing midline/lazy eights/alpha beta exercises and plan to move on to cursive after a couple months of that. I've got a number of language arts curriculums on my radar, but am having trouble deciding on one! I've also got a multiple writing workshops on my agenda for the upcoming home school conference too. I plan to have him try keyboarding next year. I don't want to force a lot of physical writing until we get things connecting and handwriting is easier for him. Any suggestions for language arts? One thought is The Critical Thinking Co's Editor in Chief software. I also have a eleven year old boy that I need to get started on grammar and more structured writing. I'm more of a math and science girl and so are my boys!
  8. We went gluten free not quite a year ago. DS had severe abdominal pain that subsided in 8 weeks. He has the celiac genes. I am gluten intolerant. My favorite cookbook is Cooking for Isaiah. One of my dear friends deals with multiple allergies in her home and she's able to pull off gluten free too. DH and I really like a cauliflower pizza crust.
  9. Another vote for Athleta. They're very soft, wear well and retain their shape. Many different styles and fits are available.
  10. I need curvy and tall. I have good luck with the Eddie Bauer curvy jeans.
  11. I was searching for more information on this curriculum and your post came up. I'm curious if you ended up using this and what you thought of it, or what other curriculum you chose.
