  1. I spend about $20 per stocking. My mom never stuffed stockings, so I love stuffing them & finding deals.
  2. Ours is getting a code reader for his car, but he has done a lot of mechanical work on it so it's something that he'll be able to use later for any vehicle. He's also getting a new alarm clock with charger ports.
  3. A weather station to dh, coffee & bourban creamer that he couldn't find. A padfolio to dd that she had on her wish list & thinks I didn't look at wishlist. She jars st got her associates this week.
  4. Just thought of it as a last minute Christmas gift. I would like to get everyone one.
  5. I just don't have things on my phone that distract me, I don't think I could give it up, I use it for too many other things, reading, calendar, reminders, grocery lists & other lists, Bible, GPS. I also need it to log in and out of work from (merchandiser) so I couldn't give it up. Good luck though, I know a few people who just have phones with a sliding keyboard.
  6. Don't try too much all at once, your skin won't like it. I don't have a lot of advice, but have used Olay Regenerist cleanser for years and always use sunscreen, usually in a moisturizer or bb cream.
  7. We know of a gentleman at church that was anonymously just gifted $800 to get his car fixed. There's been other instances like that before and I don't have a problem with it, we never have a lot of extra to do it, and haven't had anyone that I remember do it for us. We rarely ever go through the drive through or Starbucks and don't go inside at the gas station. I have found money in the dispenser at self check out before, but it's harder to forget these days, as it's set up differently and is easier to see.
  8. I stocking shop all year, so this doesn't probably help, but here's what my 16ds, 18ds& 20dd are getting: Levels ds's 2 fy & a smaller one paid $1.50 clearance dd hair brush St Patricks day t-shirt .99 clearance Star Wars Socks $1 Target StarvEars Coozie $1 Target Lego Mini figures for my boys(these were the more expensive item) & freezable ice glow eyes for dd. Halloween clearance.
  9. Indiana, 65 in winter, 77 in summer. We're about keeping bills down.
  10. We know our limits when out & about, our teens have had lots of discussion about it & we allow them to drink at home as well. They've all done shots, had beer or wine to the point of a buzz so they know what alcohol feels like & does. I've told them if they are ever out & unable to drive, to call, no questions asked. We regularly hang out with our neighbors & have a drink. It's just our norm & I'd rather let our kids partake with us, than behind our backs. They're 16, 18 & ~20btw.
  11. I ended up ordering her an abacus necklace & earrings of Etsy. I think she'll like it & it was in my budget. She's getting a nice padfolio from Amazon for Christmas as well that was on her wishlist. Wundermax Padfolio Portfolio with Bonus Writing Pad, Professional Interview PU Leather Padfolio with Zippered Closure, Interior 10.1 Inch Tablet Sleeve https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CB6YQ8M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_L37kAbXQDAKB5
  12. Dd will be done this month with associates in applied science for accounting. I should probably think about a gift right? Suggestions if so?
  13. I have to say, I was looking for place markers and found this idea, totally doing it, the only thing I really need are key rings, but I might even have something here that will work, or make something myself. http://sewmanyways.blogspot.com/2010/11/tool-time-tuesdayholiday-place-card.html
  14. They were used on a local buy/sell/trade page. I had been looking for years for something.
  15. I'm just talking 1 knife, fork & spoon. No paper plates for sure. We've done that as well, but I found the holiday plates, 16 plates for $25, so I'm excited to use them.
  16. Does anyone set a formal table for the holidays? What type of plates do you have? So will work? And glasses do you use? Just curious. These are my plates. I have 1847 Rogers brother plated Silverware that belonged to dh's grandma, it has settings for eight and I am currently looking online to see about buying more. At my sister-in-law's we usually have water goblets as well and I noticed today dollar tree had water goblets, so I may pick up some, we usually have about 12 people total at Christmas. So does anyone set a formal table anymore?
  17. I honestly saw these and thought that might work? https://www.samsclub.com/sams/air-chair/prod21351558.ip?xid=plp:product:1:6 or something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Easycouch-Inflatable-Lounger-Waterproof-Polyester/dp/B072ZVQ7C1/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1512562937&sr=8-2&keywords=quick+fill+chair What do you think?
  18. They all have nice duffle bags with their initials already. That was a gift years ago, as were sleeping bags one year, can't remember what else. Things that they could use for a long time have always been goals. Thanks
  19. I say do whatever makes you happy. I love to bake so I enjoy the baking around the holidays, we have a big dinner with our neighbors on Christmas, so we're going to do that. I don't do a lot of gifts because we don't have a lot of money to and even if we did I don't think I would go extravagant. I quit sending cards along time ago.
  20. Something useful that he can have for a long time. He plans to go into the military, his brother is getting a code reader for his car, and his older sister is getting some metal bowls for when she moves out, her request. In the past I've gotten both boys the same thing, and given them tools. 16-year-old does not have a car yet though, so I don't really want to get him a code reader as well. Any suggestions on the $25-$30 range.
  21. I would love to get a Christmas Cactus of poinsettia, holiday towels for in the kitchen or some other fun holiday display or ornament.
  22. I would be honest & not take from savings. This is part of life.
