  2. Thank you all for your responses. I am having a hard time finding information on Singapore Math online. Do they have a main website? Thanks again
  3. I am wondering what to do after saxon math k. This is our first year of HSing and we flew through the Saxon math k program. I like Saxon in that it comes highly recommended and it is what we will use in the upper math grades. But we found it not challenging, interesting, or fun at the K level. My son was very goofy and not focused during math time, I think because the lessons were not on his level. I do not want to encounter the same thing if we move onto the next level of saxon. Do the saxon lessons get more interesting or fun or faster paced?(in reviewing their online preview it seems to be layed out the same) Can you recommend another program that will fit with a student (and mom) who loves math and just gets it that has a good core of math concepts..Thank you
  4. Thank you for your responses. I wanted something a little more elegant than a blog to display my childs work. I know there are eportfolios out there but I was having a hard time finding one for homeschooling purposes. So I was just wondering if anyone used them for homeschooling. The only company I found has not returned my phone call-so I am skeptical of them..Just wondering if anyone out there uses an e portfolio for keeping their child's work. Seems with ipads etc scanning work and keeping it in a neat and tidy place is the way to go now a days in stead of binders and the such...
  5. Do you use electronic portfolios for your state portfolio review? I would love to but am having a hard time finding which one to use. Looking for any advice. Thanks
  6. Thank you for answering my question about handwriting for my 5 year old. Can you tell me which parts of the HWoT program you would suggest getting..My son would love playing games to learn handwriting. Would you suggest purchasing all the wooden pieces and such from the program? Here is the website that shows the different products http://shopping.hwtears.com/category/HWT Thanks for your help!!
  7. I am pretty set on using AAR next year for my 5yo who will be in kindergarten. The only hesitation I have is that it does not incorporate handwriting. This year we used the ZB workbooks for handwriting and he was not into sitting and practicing his letters, so we stopped them. I do want to make this a fun experience for him so if he does not like practicing letters in a workbook would you recommend any other way to teach handwriting to a boy who does not like to sit? I know other reading programs incorporate handwriting but Im pretty set on AAR due to cost and time spent on the lessons. Any advice on what to use to teach handwriting if not through a drill workbook? Or, can they pick up handwriting skills later than kindergarten? How can I make handwriting fun? Thank you
