  1. Excel is hands down better than Google Sheets. When I created a spreadsheet in Sheets, I would have the formatting set up correctly and at some point halfway through the project, it reverted on some of the columns, but not on others. I didn't know anything had changed until I tried to use the data. It was so frustrating I gave up and went with Excel, then put it into Drive. That was about 5 years ago, so hopefully Sheets has had updates and op has better luck than I did.
  2. I haven't read past this yet, but I agree. My mom told my brother, who lives 3 hours away from her, she wasn't traveling anymore, then turned around and visited us the next week. I live 13 hours away. My dad did the same thing. He and his wife told me they aren't travelling anymore, then drove to a city 4 hours from me to visit her friends and son. They drove to the city my sister lives in to visit her son, but didn't tell my sister. Feelings are hurt all the way around. @lovinmyboys, I understand your hurt. I would also be hurt.
  3. It was horrible! All over downstairs. I was so thankful she couldn't go upstairs. It started right after we increased her dose and went away as soon as we made the connection and decreased it again. Drama llama, I hope it works as well for your pup as it has for ours!
  4. We're on our second month of using it. It has been amazing for our 9 yo dog. About a week after his first shot, he was back to playing. We saw a little decline and more limping at about 3.5 weeks and he just got his second shot yesterday. He's also been taking carprofen for the last 2 years. We had another dog who was on carprofen and gabapentin. We didn't think the gabapentin was helpful and tried increasing the dose. It was still within size/safety limits, but she started having uncontrollable diarrhea. Because of our previous experience with it, we've chosen not to use gabapentin at this point for our second dog.
  5. I think a scavenger hunt would be fun. You could us ai to help with clues and have skiing be the answer in the last clue. We used this to give ds money. You could use it, among other things, with the scavenger hunt.
  6. My dd got a rescue dog that had been dropped off by the previous owners, so the extensive medical history was known. The dog had been hit by a car and had reconstructive surgery on its broken back leg. DD purchased pet insurance through her work, but chose to discontinue it because it didn't cover any preexisting conditions. It wouldn't have covered anything that could have come from either the car hit or the reconstructive surgery and she was seeing he was already needing pain meds for it. He recently had a tumor removed and she said it would have covered only a small portion of the surgery to remove it.
  7. We live in a 10 year old gated community. Google Maps always directed people to the gate that doesn't have a key pad, which caused problems with people entering the subdivision through the exit gate when someone exited. Many people let Google know their directions were inaccurate. It's only been within the last year Google fixed the problem. We all wondered why they wouldn't fix it after multiple people notified them.
  8. Do you use a specific recipe for the cheese and chocolate? I have a fondue pot that I'm thinking of using when the kids are home.
  9. If I needed to do this, I either get in my car inconspicuously so others wouldn't see me/wait for me to back out or drive to a less busy area to finish my texts. I don't depress my brakes to turn on the car because sometimes that's what people are watching for. It frustrates me when cars wait for someone to finish unloading their carts before backing out. They block traffic too long and cause problems. I've also been known to indicate to the waiting driver that I won't be backing out for a bit. I've heard that it's dangerous to sit in your car after getting in as people aren't paying attention to their surroundings and frequently haven't locked their doors.
  10. Could you assuage her feelings by telling her the holiday meal is special and you and your family like special foods for that meal, but that you'd like to take the leftovers for another not-special meal? Even if you took them and tossed them en route back home. My MIL liked to cook and insisted she make meals for us when we visited from out of town, but the quality of cooking went downhill. Orne of the last meals she made us was goulash, which we used to love. However, this last time, she put everything, including gluten free noodles, into the pot and cooked them all day. It was not delicious. She didn't want the leftovers and insisted on sending anything left with us, even though we weren't local and didn't have anywhere to store it or eat it. Eventually, we just took whatever she wanted to send and threw it away when we needed gas for the car. I didn't like the precedent, but it was the easiest way to not hurt her feelings. I'm thinking out of the box as our situation was very different than yours in that we weren't local to MIL and she didn't have narc tendencies.
  11. When I hear John Wayne, I grit my teeth. Dh thinks he's an awesome actor, but his voice sounds wooden to me and his acting seems one dimensional.
  12. I heard a friend refer to BFE about 30 years ago. I wasn't familiar with Netflix and chill. The kids, all in their 20's, are coming home next week. I think I might ask dh if he wants to Netflix and chill after we all play a game. Will be funny to see their reaction! 😆
  13. What size does she need? My personal laminator is the same as the one linked, but I can't use it for anything bigger than an 8.5 X 11 inch piece of paper. I like this one because I can put it away. I also have one at school that I can use to laminate bigger projects like file folders. I haven't used it personally, but my IA has and she seemed to like it. The biggest con is the size. I store it in a filing cabinet where it takes up the length of the drawer. It's too big to store anywhere else easily and it requires a lot of space to use. Something else to consider when purchasing the laminator for a gift is to also buy laminating sheets for it. I would recommend 3mm sheets because they're a little less expensive. I have both the 3mm and 5mm. I really don't see a big difference in the final product with them.
  14. There was a zombie thread recently resurrected from several years ago started by someone on the board who was asking for ideas to do this to a relative. I've heard of it, but I don't think I would like to have it done to me.
  15. My niece and nephew called Mini Wheats hay bales. I used to tell my kids to stop snorkeling and blow their nose.
  16. I would go because it hurts to rotate it. That indicates something more than just a sprain. My concern would also be a green stick fracture.
  17. What a funny autocorrect! Yes, it should be bloom booster.
  18. I love mine, too! Mine is square like the link, but I got my dd a round one that didn't work nearly as well as mine. I think the links were larger in hers.
  19. I neglect mine and usually leave them outside until the temps are close to freezing. Some years I use a book booster when I water them in the summer and it seems to boost the number of blooms. I have one that just bloomed, but the clades look like it's dying. It seems to be a variety with red clades, but I can't get them to look healthy. They were all from cuttings shared from across the country and all the red ones look terrible. All the others look healthy.
  20. The only error we found was when someone else wrote a check and for some reason, the check reader debited it from our account instead of the check writer's account. We discovered it only because we watch our accounts online. The first time it happened, I spoke with the bank teller and was assured it would be taken care of. The second time, I spoke with the bank manager. I was MAD! These weren't small amounts-they were deposits for a wedding, so $1000+. Turned out that it was a check printing issue, so the bank replaced the account holder's checks and we had no more problems. I was very thankful that pictures of the checks were available so it could quickly be figured out. My kids don't write checks and don't balance their accounts, though they check their accounts frequently. It makes me nervous, but they're all in their 20's now and haven't had any problems.
  21. A member can also purchase a gift card for a non member, but the non member can't spend more than $10 over the amount of the gift card. We've done this for our kids when they didn't want a membership, but wanted to purchase a couple of items.
  22. We have a larger one, very similar, in a cast iron stand that used to be dh's parents. I've always wondered what it was used for.
