  1. It's really, really flimsy and ignorant. I mean, I just can't even post it. And honestly, I can't be too judgmental because I was thisclose to buying it, myself, for which I roundly repent.
  2. I know people who think languages are inherently good or bad or...whatever. Lord, have mercy on your friends, OP. I hope they are not too contentious about it. There's a lot of historical ignorance regarding that area of the world, unfortunately. (Another Antiochian here). 🙂 I find our hymns sung in Arabic to be quite beautiful, though I have to go to Youtube for them. My parish is largely English speaking.
  3. In my stomach. 🤐😁 Actually we bake the day or two before because we are just baking for grandparents whom we see Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so it's not too hard.
  4. This reminds me that it is really in my best interest to just delete my account...
  5. Our Growing With Grammar program would have that diagrammed as a verb phrase. John|was running
  6. Um... very much not at all. I would die with some of these schedules. ?
  7. Quote I won't quote, but holy moly why did he say that?? ?
  8. Good timing! I just scheduled my oldest for her first visit, and plan to do the other two in October and November. Both DH and I have poor vision, so I don't think our kids stand a chance. ?
  9. fwiw, I have never heard of such a thing, either
  10. Mine are 8, almost 11, and 12 1/2. Chores take us about an hour on average. That includes a room of the day (each of us has a task), starting laundry, dishes, vacuuming, and (hopefully) wiping down counters, sinks, and mirrors. Beds are made and rooms tidied as part of dressing/getting ready, and not factored into that hour.
  11. Don't know either one. Have chatted with one of them once or twice. Waved to the other. We are reclusive neighbors. ?
  12. If no third party candidate is viable either, then I abstain, and I've received flak IRL for doing so. But I just can't do what I can't do. I'm just one person, so I don't feel troubled that my non-vote affected much. I realize the potential skewing that can happen if most people feel like I do, but I don't think that's the case.
  13. I vote for ceramic tiles--sealed tiles, sealed grout. Sealed everything. ? Wood floors would not survive in any fauceted room in our house. ? LVT would be my next choice, sans grooves.
  14. **lots of hugs** I'm will everyone who's saying get what you actually want, and dump the rest on someone else to auction off--make keep the special tools and equipment separate and find someone who specializes in moving that stuff (appraisal, resale, auction; idk). Even if you need to squeeze every penny out; I'd still look at it from that point of view--pack up what you want with you in this next chapter first, then deal with the rest however circumstances allow/force you. I second breaks, too. Take a day trip, if it's feasible. **more hugs** The new place sounds fun. ?
  15. Especially when you can order through the internet. ?
  16. Congrats!!!!! ? Scared and excited was my pregnancy default, so I'm with you. ?
  17. Those people must not go to a Baptist church.... ? Edit: to be clear it's the "gin and tonic" and "in public" bits specifically.
  18. I have white hairs, but they're few and far between. They're welcome to hurry up and multiply. I'm 35. ?
  19. I guess juggling the costs of moving, repairing, etc. would be my biggest concern. And apparently being close enough to check on the old one frequently enough. Here we don't have to worry about freezing temperatures like that. But I just went through getting my house ready to list in order to buy, in order to sell, blah blah blah and I will never do that again. I will become religiously minimalist before trying to live in a staged, tour-ready home. Just... eck. So we're actually working toward saving up a down payment plus several months' of mortgage on this place. And money to pay for movers. Maybe I'll feel differently eventually, but currently, I don't feel like packing us up ever again.
  20. I never would have asked other people to hold my babies, because I loved holding my babies. ? People had to ask. *edited for clarity*
