  1. I have no advice, but wanted to :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: you. :)
  2. It's decided not to storm to day, so: gardening (hopefully finish removing sod, create mulch paths, transplant) ^^I'm seriously considering jettisoning pretty much everything else today just to get. this. done. *I smell like a goat and I swear I've been outside for hours, but I have no idea what I've accomplished. IF it stays normal, though: chores (feed things, dishes, laundry, vanities, kitchen counters, bathrooms, sweep) seat work read aloud centers clean out hamster cage test fish tank water dinner -- leftovers Today is fail.
  3. Completely honestly, it's as likely I'd pass him by as just give him my umbrella...or whatever in between. I have no idea what would make the difference. I've noticed that most people around here (including myself) tend to decline offers of help, anyway, though.
  4. Sure! I've brought it up a couple of times, but it's been a year or two. Mine say, "don't worry about us." And I know they have things in order, but still... His don't seem to have a plan, or just haven't mentioned it. Not as sure there.
  5. I agree that we need more good men in the classrooms. And a lot less bureaucracy. ;)
  6. Good news!! I'm really glad for you; I hope she's equally willing to work with you on any other concerns you have! Don't feel bad for worrying at all.
  7. We sold a 1997 sedan for $55, lol. Price of towing. We got it for free, though. No sense in making too much off of it. :D It was in really bad shape though, pieces literally falling off of it. The guy wanted to fix it up, so why not?
  8.   I like the outside, though. I like the rustic look. How is it 2500 sq.ft. and only 2/1, though?? Waste of space.
  9. Had ours for 12 years, lol. It needs replacing (it is/was a pillow top). I'm eyeing a Tuft & Needle but other things need doing before we can splurge.
  10. I'll be an empty-nester at 45. Re-education, maybe. Career, nah. Unless we really needed the income for some unforeseeable reason, I'd rather hobby or volunteer or something other than paid employment. ETA: good point about parental care. Our parents will be in the 75-80 range at that point. I'm an only child, and DH is oldest of two, so...yeah. C'est la vie indeed.
  11. ::hugs:: Scout!! chores (feed critters, bedrooms, wash sheets, fold yesterday's laundry, dishes, sweep, vanities, kitchen counters) grocery store more gardening pray the vacuum guy calls! (he didn't, though, lol) seat work centers read aloud dinner -- homemade pizza & salad (but also ran to the grocery at 8:00, so pick up sushi at DH's request). I'm thisclose to giving up on my garden; I just did everything so backwards.
  12. Running behind today! vet chores (feed things, dust, mop, sweep, dishes, laundry, vanities) gardening (before my starts die!!) -- got something done at least; will do more in the evening since I don't have to cook seat work centers make us stick to new schedule! -- so far, mostly good! exercise for real :D
  13. ^^ I'll apologize for my reaction, then. I (maybe others?) have to deal with a situation where things just aren't quite equal, where just a little too much weight has been thrown around for just a little too long, and just a few too many mixed signals have been sent and unsolicited advice offered--some things just are not discussed. The things that I don't want to discuss aren't even hinted at, because I know I would be pestered. I'm sorry many of us evidently misinterpreted the dynamic here. :( I do hope things are ok, and work out.
  14. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: , Jean. Gracious.
  15. RE: being best friends with your spouse -- I've used this terminology before, but I personally don't mean we gab about everything and do our hair together; I just mean we can hang out and talk, or do stuff, and we enjoy each other's company, and we always give each other grace for all the crazy idiosyncrasies each of us has. We rarely criticize, and if we do we retract it. And we occasionally play slaps like two stupid kids. :D I think he's just enough of a softie and I'm just enough of a tomboy that it works out well for us in most things, most of the time. Makes the disconnects easier to handle, even if they're big. :)
  16. I'm sorry for the rough times, y'all!! ::hugs:: We're trying to get ourselves into a more efficient schedule that aside: recycling center mechanic chores (feed critters, sweep, kitchen, wipe bathroom vanities, laundry) seat work centers read aloud cook dishes calls (rental place, boarding place, vet, lab) pay bills? oh and exercise! Got most of that done! And I actually sat down and played some Monopoly with DD and read to them and no rushing around. :hurray: Ugly sort of humid here, too. I was moving some stuff this morning before 7:00 for a junk pick up, and made the mistake of wearing a sweatshirt outside. Blech. I really should know better by now!
  17. It actually varies between 6 & 7.5, but usually around 7. BUT I sleep poorly a lot and am woken up the rest of the time, so am constantly tired. ;)
  18. On DH's side, I think it's however long he was in boot camp. For me, I guess...a few months? Edited for attitude. ;)
