  1. Mine is 25 months old and wants to pee in the potty. She asks me everyday and she sits on her potty. She gets very upset if I try to take her off before she is ready. She "pushes", but has never peed in it. She so badly wants to but just hasn't figured out how yet.
  2. Yes, I am guessing my idea of busy is going to be really lame to you. ;) The hospital is real close to Beavercreek. Yellow Springs is neat... hippies, recycling, farmer's market, head shops, etc. It's about 25 minutes from the base.
  3. I live here! :D Beavercreek and Kettering are both good places. Beavercreek is a lot more expensive. I like Kettering because it has great shops. It is super busy though. A lot of base people live in Huber Heights. Some areas are redneck, but most aren't and it's a lot calmer than other suburbs. My church is full of base people, and we are in Huber Heights. If you want the name of it, message me. I don't know much about the base, except that people seem to be happy there. There is a homeschool group on base, but again I don't know anything about it. Ohio regs are easy enough. You turn in your intent to homeschool at the beginning of the school year, along with a brief outline of your intended curricula/plans. At the end of the year, you either get an assessment by a certified teacher(many of whom are homeschoolers) or take a standardized test. The Dayton area is nice. It isn't too big but big enough that there is always something to do. We have a lot of history type places, the A.F. Museum, festivals all summer long, metroparks that are homeschool friendly, etc. I can get you in touch with some military wives if you would like. They would be happy, I'm sure, to show you the ropes. None of the ones I know homeschool though.
  4. Anybody care to look these verses over and see if it is translated right? I got this off lyricstranslate.com. We are still in the beginning stages of learning Latin, but I didn't think some of the words looked right. I'm trying to find fun songs for the kids to learn. :) I'd appreciate any help!! Jesus loves me Jesus loves me, this I know For the Bible tells me so Little ones to Him belong They are weak but He is strong chorus: /// Yes, Jesus loves me /// The Bible tells me so Jesus loves me, He who died Heaven's gate to open wide He will wash away my sin Let His little child come in chorus: ..... Jesus loves me loves me still Though I'm very weak and ill From His shining throne on high Comes to watch me where I lie chorus: ..... Latin Iesus me amat Iesus me amat, hoc scio Nam biblia mihi dicat Infanti sunt Ei Infirmi sunt, sed Is firmus est Chorus: /// Profecto, Iesus me amat /// Biblia mihi dicat Iesus me amat, Is qui mortuus est Ut late aperta porta caelis est Is purgabit peccatum meum Iubete intrare infantem Eius chorus: Iesus me amat, etiam num me amat Quamquam valde infirmus aegrotusque sum De Eius regnum splendidum de summi Venit ut specabit ubi iaco
  5. We are going to California from Ohio next month by Amtrak. We are all so very excited and are calling it Our Adventure! We did not get a room; we're bringing pillows and blankets and will sleep in our seats. :001_smile:

  9. I went to this conference in 1990. I loved it and I learned so much about our government that I hadn't learned in my mediocre high school. There were planned activities everyday, all day. Lots of mock congress, we "wrote and lobbied" for a bill, we met with our representatives, etc. We also did some sight seeing. From a kids perspective, it was fantastic! As a parent, my only concern would be supervision. I was a very innocent, naive 16 year old so I am not sure if any boy-girl things went on. But I do remember walking into a boy's room in the boy's dorm with no problem. Looking back, we had plenty of time to do something had we wanted. KWIM? HTH!!
  10. I am a planner. I am a planner because I am a worrier. lol I have DC ages 2-13. I have their entire schedule planned out, minus interest led electives and math for 11 and 12th grades. I have plan A and plan B, which would be outsourcing certain classes to CC. I have put all this info in a binder, so that if I die my DH should not have too much trouble figuring out what he needs to get each year. I also have different plans for my typical kids and my special needs kids. I should add that my plans are negotiable. After WWS came out, I changed our reading and writing plans for grades 5-8. Now off to read other responses to see if I am the only one this pathetic.
