  5. I am so sorry for your loss. Sending lots of hugs your way.

  9. Oh man it is rainy and dreary. But it is about to turn to snow. Sigh. And the storm just got way upgraded since last night. It would have been fine over spring break.

  17. There was a bit about it here https://caitlinrivers.substack.com/p/outbreak-outlook-national-april-1?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=1017072&post_id=142985383&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=true&r=q2z70&triedRedirect=true&utm_medium=email U.S. officials have detected avian influenza A(H5N1) in dairy cows in New Mexico, Texas, Michigan, Idaho and Kansas. H5N1 has been spreading widely in wild birds for several years now, as I’ve reported in previous newsletters. Symptoms in dairy cows include reduced milk production and low appetite. This development follows a recent report of goats contracting bird flu in Minnesota, which marked the first known instance of the virus in domestic ruminants. The U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration have determined that the commercial milk supply remains safe, because milk from sick animals is discarded. Moreover, pasteurization is effective at inactivating viruses and bacteria. This situation is worrisome because it affects multiple farms across different states and includes infections in animals not previously affected. While there are clear implications for agriculture, my major concern is the potential for the virus to evolve to spread easily between humans. There is no evidence that this is happening, but any time we see a change in the epidemiology of the virus, I take notice. I’ll be watching this situation closely in the days and weeks ahead.
  18. The kids got spoiled for Easter. Eggs were filled with 4 times as much cash. Got all their normal Easter basket stuff. But what I was so excited about was that they were all gifted TONS of clothes for summer. Yay. I was just about to start looking for things. Did some ballet ordering stuff. Need to do more for an upcoming show and for intensives. At least we have lists started for that now.
  19. Nope. I can't stand April Fools Day. And with Easter just being yesterday we are just recovering from that. I need holidays more spread out to do them.
  20. I have but I toss and turn like crazy and then never wake up with it there still. I wonder why I toss and turn so much. Seems so like I would not well rested if I am tossing and turning all night. Yes, if anyone has more info on their bed toppers. Maybe that is a key.
  21. Side, back, tummy sleeper? Do you use sleep aids? Ear plugs? Masks? Sound machines? What pillows do you use? Any other great things you use or do for sleep? In the last week or so I started using a sleep mask and it is amazing!! Light totally bothers me when I am sleeping but for some reason I was afraid to try an eye mask. OH man do I wish I would have tried that sooner. Like decades ago. Sigh. I am thinking of now trying some ear plugs for so many reasons. But my neighborhood totally disrupts my sleep. I have been using sound machines and I think they block some, but not all so I think I am going to try ear plugs. I was always afraid to do that with little kids. But mine are not little anymore. I am side sleeper, but I would love to not be. It causes so much pain in my shoulders and hip. Body pillows don't work for me. I am thinking of getting a Cervical pillow. Has anyone used one? I am thinking it may help me become a back sleeper?
  22. No fooling it is a new month to try and be frugal or not. Anything going on this month? Spring breaks? Traveling for the eclipse? Eating Easter leftovers?
  23. 3 kids are up and going through Easter baskets (which was really a huge bag) of gifts.
  24. One kid was up but went to lay back down. We got home late from visiting family. Kids don't have school today. Maybe one has some. I am sure they will get some work done for the week though.
