  1. The teacher is wrong. You are correct.
  2. I just bought this in store. Yes, it just comes in the shrink wrap.
  3. Snoopy and the Red Baron were part of the WW I Christmas Truce.
  4. I have that harvest gold electric can opener. We got it as a wedding or shower gift in the late 1970s. I still have it, although it is in a cupboard rather than on the counter at this point. I rarely open cans anymore and when I do I use a manual opener.
  5. Yes, of course order Chinese. I like pork lo mein. Dh and I went to an Indian lunch buffet today and that was wonderful also.
  6. Figure a way to physically barricade the door from the inside. And make his life a Irving hell until he treats you with respect.
  7. Tell him to google it. It is a “thing”, whether he agrees or not. I’ve gotten too old and crabby to put up with that kind of argument.
  8. This is why I call the 1980s my lost decade. Pregnancy/nursing brain through the whole time.
  9. Maybe something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Epoch-Womens-Gatsby-Cloche-Flower/dp/B01DQ288D4/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_193_bs_img_1?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=6BDNQX8QWG9V3AW9FNRW&th=1&psc=1 Or this? https://www.amazon.com/Lawliet-Womens-Boater-Fedora-Panama/dp/B074MYCL2N/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_193_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=1CHDZJHYT6ZVD2N9CJKG eta: A simple fascinator https://www.amazon.com/SZTARA-Feathers-Headband-Fascinator-Decoration/dp/B01MXM0SZS/ref=lp_7072323011_1_48?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1526770936&sr=1-48&nodeID=7072323011&psd=1&th=1
  10. I have a friend who worked on her degree through the University of Maryland when she was in the Army stationed in Germany.
  11. You are not the one causing any divisiveness. Some groups are not worth trying to work with.
  12. With the additional information it seems pretty clear that this is a county sponsored event. The only way Ms. Control Freak can try to control the event is to attempt to intimidate those who are not in her handpicked group. Ignore her and make your plans as if she had never contacted you.
  13. We had almost exactly this same discussion regarding a library event about a week ago. The conclusion I remember was, just because an individual has the initial idea for a event does not give them the authority to run the event Same song, different verse.
  14. If this is not a facility sponsored event, why would they be doing publicity for it?
  15. Teenager Mom, you said in the op that the facility would be contacted you regarding the “multiple errors” they had made regarding the event. Have they contacted you yet? How soon is this event taking place?
  16. If she is not the actual “organizer” I’m not sure why you give a flip what she says. If she contacts you again, tell her to bugger off.
  17. The thread that made me laugh was about how much to save for retirement. We were assured that after the first $1,000,000 in retirement savings, it got much easier. Who would have thought? If only I had known that earlier!
  18. To me the problem is, and it is not completely clear from the op, identifying exactly whose program this is. If it a public library event, and that is what I would assume given it appears the librarian is actively working the event during tax supported work hours, then the library controls the parameters, even if it was a particular individual’s initial idea. If it is just a private group that is meeting in a library provided community room, a librarian should not be running it. If an individual wants to control a group, she needs to put in either the time or money to have that control.
  19. If this is a public library program the library gets to set the parameters and gets to flex them if they wish. Other mom can go pound sand. Restart your Facebook group. Sounds like a more pleasant group anyway.
  20. It could use a little more crystal and statuary.
  21. As long as they throw candy it’s all good.
  22. For NZ Manuka honey check that it has a UMF rating.
