  1. I'm always torn in how I feel about dividing up kids sports. On one hand you want it even so that every team has a fair chance of winning. On the other hand if you group them by experience, the kids actually get better coaching. Example: my son played on an 8u baseball team last year with a lot of kids that had never played. The coaches spent so much time teaching basics that he did not progress at all. In fact, he got worse. Usually in kids sports there are a limited # of practices and volunteers so they can't work with the kids individually. So yeah, I can't decide how I feel. ;)
  2. Yeah, ours have to go through background checks and training. Some of our favorite teachers have been men. However there was one male teacher that gave me the creeps. It wasn't because I thought he would abuse the kids, I thought he was WAY to rigid in some of his beliefs and I wasn't comfortable with it. I didn't pull the boys from class though because they were 2 and I didn't think that his beliefs would come into play during the hour class. LOL
  3. It's interesting that you said that, they are talking about how in episode 3 they are kind of showing him to look like #9 Eccleston. Kind of a.... hey, the guy that got rid of all the Time Lords is still in there. Same guy....
  4. 2 adults in the room at all time. If it is a married couple, they only count as one and there will need to be an additional person.
  5. So, would anyone want to start talking about Season/Series 7? I was reading somewhere else that so far all three episodes have had 3 things in common. 1. Flickering lights 2. Mention Christmas 3. Big explosion near the end Also, I don't know about BBC but BBCAmerica has been playing a commercial that goes something along the lines "Every story has a beginning, middle and end but not always in that order" I'm thinking they are giving us some clues to something but there are a billion guesses as to what. :001_unsure: We know the Ponds leave in episode 5 which is the last episode before the Christmas episode and that they leave under "heartbreaking circumstances" . So do we think they are leaving us clues about the Christmas episode or the Ponds final episode? If you remember in the other Weeping Angel shows, the lights always flickered and the 5th show is called The Angels take Manhatten. Other things to consider: When Rory's Dad is in the Tardis looking down at the world with the Ponds, the Dr is looking at them very sadly. When the Dr and Amy are talking and she makes a joke about him being around until the end of her. In the 3rd episode, the Ponds decline a trip with the Dr saying they want to go home and the Dr acts a little weird. Yes. I have WAY too much time invested in guessing this. :001_rolleyes::001_rolleyes:
  6. I want to add my vote for Tapatalk! Love it!
  7. We are also using it in our co op. I'm actually substituting it for the My Father's World science. :)
  8. Thanks! I had a sinking feeling that was going to be the answer. LOL
  9. N Florida here... We're right outside of Jacksonville. :)
  10. OK.. Quick Math U See question. This is the one piece of curriculm that I don't have yet. Actually, I bought the wrong one so I'm regrouping. Anyway, I was trying to save on the atrocious shipping prices by hitting ebay instead of the MUS site. Here's the problem, it looks like almost everyone is selling the DVD, Teachers manual and Student Test book. Looking at the MUS site, it looks like there is also a Student Text book with worksheets. Do I need both Text & Test for Students? Also, it doesn't look like the MUS website will allow you to just buy the text book. You have to buy the whole student package, right?
  11. Did you split it up over 2 years? I was assuming I needed to plan for it to be done in 1.
  12. Ok that makes so much more sense. I didn't even consider breaking it up over multiple days. Thanks!
  13. I'm a first time homeschooler and a little confused. We have My Father's World for my 4th grader and 2nd grader. I'm going through the 2nd graders language arts book and I'm a little concerned. We have Primary language lessons by Emma Serl. Some of the lessons include a large amount of memorization for my extremely active 7 yr old boy! Starting on day 4, we have a short poem to be memorized. I'm very worried about this because we are transitioning from public school and the first few weeks are probably going to be very tough. Is it reasonable to expect that he can do this and make him or find an alternative lesson? I'm trying to be careful about picking my battles these first few weeks. Thx!
