Delighted3 replied to northcoast's topic in The Chat Board
Korean Beef Tacos. Everyone in my family loves it and it so easy. http://mommyimhungry.blogspot.com/2011/12/korean-crock-pot-beef-tacos-gluten-free.html -
https://newleafwellness.biz/2015/08/17/31-freezer-prep-sessions-that-will-change-your-life/ This website has tons of freezer to crockpot dump recipes. She has the printable recipes plans for the recipes and shopping lists. Also, it is healthy stuff. Lots of veggies and no canned soups. This is a link to a page with lots of plans, but she shares recipes almost daily, so be sure to look around on her blog. Joy

I have ordered from this company. The aprons are good quality and really cute. They often have good sales. There might even be a Groupon. https://www.flirtyaprons.com/

There actually is a classical latin school called Cair Paravel in Kansas and their mascot is the Lions. Also, in Nebraska, there used to be a mental health facility named Rivendell. I think the name has changed though. Just some fun facts that came to mind while reading your post. :) Joy -
Where did you get it fitted at? Thanks, Joy

Hunter: The Rainbow Curriculum
Delighted3 replied to Delighted3's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Hunter, Thank you so much for your insights. It leaves me with a lot to ponder. I am schooling mainstream students. The are not brilliant, but all excel in their own ways. I am attracted to your experiment because of the simplicity. We use a couple different math programs (Saxon and TT) and I have resources that I use for grammar. I am mostly interested in page 2 with all the literature/history/science selections. Again, thank you for sharing your work. Joy -
I have been looking at your rainbow curriculum. I find it intriguing. I have a couple of questions. I had printed off version 9.8 and now version 12. I was comparing them and I am interested in knowing what criteria you use for adding/removing/placing books. For instance, I noticed that "Last of the Mohicans" and "Silas Marner" was in the Gold level Novels of 9.8 and has been replaced by "Les Miserables", Robinson Crusoe", and "Scarlet Letter" in 12.0. I am not questioning those choices in particular, just wondering how you are determining what is best for each level because I see lots of changes between versions. Also, is each level a year? How would I determine where to place a student? Are you using this/planning to use this with actual students or is it just a theory? I really admire the exhaustive work that is going into this project. I have been mulling over how I could implement it with my own children. Thanks for any information about the thought process that is going into this you would be willing to share. Joy

Here is a link to a facebook group that has tons of recipes in the files and a lot of helpful hints. The lady who owns the group sells reconditioned vitamix's, but you don't have to have bought one from her to join. I didn't. Everyone is really nice and helpful. Sort of S/O question: Are your rings soldered together?
Delighted3 replied to AnnE-girl's topic in The Chat Board
Mine are soldered together. I think this was considered the norm. At least the jeweler made it seem like the thing to do. I never questioned it. I wore the engagement ring up until right before the wedding and then we had them soldered together right before the ceremony. Married 26 years ago in mid size metropolitan area in midwest. Joy -

I would not be offended, but, honestly, I would probably be less likely to try to contact you. JMO, Joy

I would like to print some pictures of my daughter off of facebook for a graduation project. There are about 600 of them. Is there any way to download them all at once or do I have to do it individually? I know that you can directly import pictures to Walgreens and some other places, but that only seems to work for pictures that she put on facebook, not pictures she was tagged in which is the majority of what I want. Thanks, Joy

I make a version of this salad pretty often. I think it is better if the vegetables marinate over night in the dressing. I add the bacon/raisins/nuts right before serving. HTH, Joy

Is There Security At Your Place of Worship?
Delighted3 replied to SeaConquest's topic in The Chat Board
We go to a smallish church in a large metro area. Men from the congregation take turns watching the parking lot during services and any number of men in the church may be armed as per the conceal carry law in our state. Joy -
That's a really cute idea. Since it's her 18th birthday, I would do 18 items. Joy

And which candy thermometer? Because if you've already done all the work picking out the best one, that would be great. Lol. Joy -
Is Kohls always this good with coupons/discounts?
Delighted3 replied to Ottakee's topic in The Chat Board
I just bought my daughter a pair of sandals there yesterday that were $40. I had a rebate from a black Friday appliance, a $5 yes2you reward and the $10 off $30 coupon. For some reason, I got another $10 special discount off and the total out of pocket for the shoes was $1.77. I don't return things very often, so I haven't really had any issues there. Love Kohls! -
This is what has worked for my girls too. Joy
