  1. I need a free online typing program that is fun for children. Any suggestions? Thanks
  2. My favorite curriculum for grammar stage is FLL. I have used FLL 1-3 and plan to use FLL 4 after that we will use R&S 5. It's nice to have the variety so you don't have to do R&S for 8 years.
  3. We use IEW now, but I am interested in SWB's writing curriculum that will be released this spring and summer. I can't wait until she writes the volume for logic stage.
  4. I use My Father's World which incorporates SOTW into their program. They recommend folding in the other children wherever you are in the history cycle, but they do address the issue with SOTW 4. They felt that material was not suitable for children under 4th grade so they designed a 2nd-3rd grade supplement to go along with SOTW 4 along with activity sheets. (I've also heard complaints that SOTW AG doesn't have as many pages for the younger ones to use so this would solve that problem as well). Even if you don't want to do their whole program you might get some ideas from looking at their supplement and the sample of their schedule. They have the schedule for what the older ones and younger ones do on the same page. http://www.mfwbooks.com SOTW 4 is in their 1850 to Modern program. SOTW Volume 1-3 I think are more appropriate for the younger ages and I think it would be fine for everyone to do it together.
  5. I am in McComb 70 miles south of Jackson. Where is Olive Branch?
  6. I am in McComb, MS 70 miles south of Jackson on I 55.
  7. I also use MUS and Singapore
  8. I have used all of their programs from Kindergarten to Rome to Reformation (except Adventures, it wasn't written when my oldest was 2nd grade). We love it. I find it very easy to implement. The TM is well laid out and easy to just grab it and go. The only things I do ahead of time is photocopies and finding library books for reading and book basket. Each week they list the supplies you need for science but I bought a kit so I didn't have to gather materials. The book list is very helpful. They have choices for older and younger children so I can get age appropriate books for all of my children. I like their overall plan of training children to greater indepedence step by step to get them ready for college. I plan to use their curriculum all the way through high school.
  9. This is my favorite resource for Bible Study. They have something appropriate for all ages. I love the children's studies. They really teach skills and application both. They have some great teen courses as well. Daniel for teens is great for an Ancients study. http://www.precept.org
  10. I use MFW and tweak it to suit me. I love the lesson plans and the book list. It gives me a framework to work with rather than coming up with everything. Lori in MS
