    Our house has become the go-to place for DS15 and his friends. This means a lot of sleepovers with several teen boys and an absurd amount of extra food being purchased constantly.

    I don't think that we can determine reasonable. For our family, all of those budget items would be low. I agree with good shoes and would never buy used. If your family is needing to use credit cards to pay for things, then the amounts are too high. If not, your DH probably needs to shop with you to see how reasonable it all actually is!

    Older child is not underweight. Scarlett doesn't want to deprive him of the food he likes just because SS shouldn't have it.

    There's kind of nothing grosser than the fact that humans drink a cow's breast milk, so no - I don't think the name needs to change. People should stop taking cow's milk from baby cows though!

    I wouldn't be jealous that others can give my son that opportunity, so that wouldn't factor in to my decision. Would my DS want to go? Am I comfortable with this family taking him away for so long/such distance?

    We loved Children Around the World last year and found WinterPromise to be extremely responsive and helpful any time we had a question. It was our best year yet. We are going to start American Story 1 after Christmas.

    We have a friend party at a venue (NOT at our house) either shortly before or after the birthday, and then a family party with grandparents, cousins, aunts/uncles on the actual birth date.

    Make them something else...because they are kids and there are a ton of foods I don't want to eat on any given day, even if I liked them yesterday. *sigh*

    We LOVE it! DD is PG and we used it a couple of years ahead. She enjoys the activities and modifies them sometimes, but overall we think it's pretty fantastic.
