  1. Boppy nursing pillow and Mommy's Bliss Gripe Water. These items are my life right now.
  2. I am currently 8 weeks postpartum and am on blood pressure meds that were prescribed one week postpartum because my Bp hadn't come down. My OB doesn't like my blood pressure to be anything over 130/80.
  3. I am a Christian, homeschooling, sahm who is overweight and has gestational diabetes during pregnancy - both of my babies were under 7 lbs and healthy.
  4. We have it. We have played it with a group where the youngest was 7 and the oldest 58. It is fun, however there aren't enough cards to make it fun over time. We played it probably 5-10 times and grew tired of it. If you have a variety of people and can play with different groups it would have more longevity. We have had more success with a game called Likewise - we play it all the time with the same group and it is always a hit!
  5. I hear my pulse as a whooshing sound when I have intracranial hypertension. Other symptoms are visual disturbances, neck pain (mostly at the base of the skull), and migraines. I also get fluid build up in my ears but that is not an official symptom. Mine is idiopathic intracranial hypertension, but it can be caused by certain conditions. I hope you have success figuring out what is going on so they you can find relief!
  6. So true. I have to give my son a purpose for all of his learning. He recently started up swimming lessons again. We took a break from them for over a year because he wasn't progressing and didn't seem to care if he did. This summer the pool started teaching the skills differently. So instead of just progressing through all of the strokes in each level, they focus on a few skills and are adding in more water safety skills like helping someone who is drowning. He is progressing so quickly this time and is excited about doing it. It made me realize that what he might be missing in school is the application to real life. So I am going to focus more on explaining to him why he is learning what he is learning this year.
  7. My son isn't the type to whine or complain but he just dawdles on anything he doesn't want to do. So I have to refocus him frequently. However, he is figuring out that the more time he spends on his schoolwork the less free time he has because I don't care about the clock. So if he is working on the same list of math problems for 2 hours. . . Oh well. I do my best to make things interesting. I'm glad to know that it is probably just a phase.
  8. No matter what I do, my son does not like school. It is not what he wants to do. I learned about 2 years ago that I can exhaust myself trying to make it fun and exciting or I can give him a quality education and require that he do it. Either way, he will have the same attitude about it. I'm not saying there is no place for fun in school, but that is not my focus.
  9. The "Let's Read and Find Out" series of science books. They can be purchased in bundles by subject on rainbowresource.com. They are also easy to find in libraries. Excellent for Grammar stage science.
  10. This year we just needed a 3-inch binder with dividers, filler paper, a box of 64 crayons, a ruler, and some tape. Well stocked on everything else. I like to keep it simple to save space and avoid clutter.
  11. My son is 7 and was in the room with my husband and I for our ultrasound with baby on the way.
  12. Be prepared with cold, soft foods he likes! My hubby had a tooth out Friday and just today started on solids again.
