  1. Wow! Thanks for sharing. :) I can't wait to see volume 1 as well.
  2. Bible - HOD CtC plus Boyhood and Beyond and Created to Work Grammar - Rod & Staff Writing - IEW Ancients Spelling - HOD CtC Arts/Poetry - HOD CtC Math - Teaching Textbooks and LOF Science - Apologia Zoology Literature - HOD CtC History - HOD CtC I think that is everything. :)
  3. I know, I couldn't believe it! I have always looked at TOG, but just accepted that it was too expensive. Wow, what a blessing. :D
  4. We have loved HOD here as well. Great book choices especially the older guides, but we are planning to switch to TOG because I do not want to run 3-4 guides (we have 5 children). Hope you end up enjoying it! :001_smile:
  5. Well, I am debating starting TOG this fall or the next year. We were blessed with TOG Years 1 & 2 redesigned, but I already bought HOD CtC for the fall. We would be independent and I do not have a blog even though I should. :001_smile: We have a 12, 10, 8, 3, and 1 year old. I am looking forward to studying the same time periods! Missy
  6. Candice, Your posts really helped me! Thanks for all the wonderful info. I love the idea of my older boys planning the week for themselves. What great training for them! Thanks again. :D Missy
  7. Hello ladies, I thought I would give you a quick update on my HOD and TOG dilema. A wonderful, sweet lady gave me TOG Redesigned 1 & 2 and Classic 3 & 4 basically for the cost of shipping. :hurray: Such a blessing to our family. So now I have to decide whether to use HOD CtC which I already bought or start TOG 1 this fall. Any advice? I am leaning towards using HOD this fall since I already spent the money plus that will give me plenty of time to look over TOG. Another question for the TOG ladies - Do you think it will be hard for me to go from redesign to classic? Missy:001_smile:
  8. Thank you so much for all your input. I am going right now to read Candice's thread. :001_smile: Missy
  9. Kelly, How long does it take you to prep for each week? And is your older pretty independent? I so want to get a hold of a year and look through it to see if it work for us. :001_smile: Missy
  10. I totally agree, but there is no way I could do what you are trying to do!! ;) Is the teacher workload insane for TOG compared to HOD?
  11. Do you mean combing?! Yikes :) Or choosing between the two?
  12. Has anyone here ever left HOD for TOG or vice versa? I like HOD, but will be running 3 guides soon (in another year and eventually 4) and I was wondering if TOG would be better. I have heard that TOG is very teacher intensive (scares me), but would it be equal to running three guides? Just curious if anyone has had the same issue. The idea of all studying the same time period sounds like a lot of fun. :) BTW, I have 5 children - 12, almost 11, 8, almost 4, and 15 months. If I could start all over, I think I would have done SOTW first years then started TOG. I didn't know about this wonderful site until December! I have learned so much these past few months. Thank you to all the ladies here. :grouphug: Missy in Guam
  13. I will be curious to see how it works for you! :) I have been drawn to TOG, but scared of it at the same time. We have 5 kids - 12,10,8,3,1. We are returning to HOD in the fall - CtC and Beyond. I really want it to work, but I am still so interested in TOG. I just don't think I would have time for all the planning. Look forward to hearing how it goes. :) Missy
  14. Great thread Ladies! I feel very encouraged because I also have had a hard time with the younger guides, I have tweaked them too much. I am so excited to starting CtC soon! The later guides just seem to have better book choices and I like that they have added Apologia Science. I also like the notebook pages. Missy
