  1. Be careful with cosmetics in your carry on. Things that are not liquids (like face cream) may be perceived as a liquid by TSA.
  2. MM guardian is a good parental control app for phones.
  3. I bet she would eat tuna from a can on a spoon.

Red Herring Ignoratio elenchi (also known as: beside the point, misdirection [form of], changing the subject, false emphasis, the Chewbacca defense, irrelevant conclusion, irrelevant thesis, clouding the issue, ignorance of refutation) Description: Attempting to redirect the argument to another issue to which the person doing the redirecting can better respond. While it is similar to the avoiding the issue fallacy, the red herring is a deliberate diversion of attention with the intention of trying to abandon the original argument.

  9. I make chocolate peanut butter over night oats-mash a banana, put half in the jar, and mix the other half with 1/3 cup old fashioned oats, 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, and 2 T chocolate peanut butter powder. I think it is 5 SP.
  10. Thanks! I had accidentally put in a full cup of almond milk into the app.
  11. Thanks for this! I made it for today and it is really good. But according to the WW app,, 1/3 cup old fashioned oats is 3 points, and the 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk is one point, so it is 4 points. Or am I doing something wrong in the app?
  12. Me too. I live in a state with no homeschooling regulations, and I wish there were some.
  13. In most large churches nowdays, you don't even interact with anyone at church. You go in, find a seat, and after the service is over everyone goes home. Even if you know someone who attends the same church as you, they often will go to a different service and you may not see them.
  14. Maybe it was a gift? I would call Amazon .
  15. Love and Logic has some really great ideas about this very thing.
  16. I use the phrase, "I will be happy to talk to you when I am feeling respected." (Thank you, Love and Logic!) You cannot force someone to talk to you in a respectful way, but you CAN choose when or if to listen/engage with the person. You control yourself..not the other person. It helps to state what YOU are going to do vs telling the other person what to do.
  17. Quill, do you believe that if a girl or woman dresses in a way that you would consider immodest, then she is saying she wants to have sex that night, and that it is the guy's right to touch her sexually since she is advertising her "low hanging fruits?"
  18. I changed the pronouns and nouns around from Quill's post to make a point-how easy it is to assume all males are obsessing about sex 24/7 and that women never want sex- "Oh, come on! Do you disagree that there are some girls who are really just interested in an easy lay? Or, at least, to get around some bases if that is possible? Some guys will cooperate with that goal and some want it for themselves. If a woman is principally looking for some "easy good times," she's going to go with one or two bits of data to try to choose well: what others say (his "rep") and how he presents himself. She's not going to "waste her time" on a dead end - the church guy in an oxford and khakis, say, or a guy other girls say, "yeah, he won't do anything, don't bother."
  19. When a child is sexually assaulted, no one goes around saying, "Well , what was the 6 year old wearing? " But when a woman is sexually assaulted, they do. This is victim blaming and not ok.
  20. Wow. So it is up to the woman to prevent getting raped by wearing a long (vs short) dress??
  21. LOL I have never met a Jewish, or Atheist or Muslim or gay or single parent who homeschools. And the homeschooling co-ops here have statements of faith, some of which specifically mention homosexuality and transgender issues, and state that if a parent is homosexual or trans, or living with a partner and not married, then they are not welcome to join the co-op.
