  1. My daughter has Type 1 Diabetes. Symptoms are increased hunger, thirst, and urination along with weight loss. I thought she was growing a lot and that's why she was thinning out and hungry all the time. I would strongly recommend that you get a simple blood sugar check. If you know anyone who has a meter, they'll be happy to do it for you. Undetected T1D can lead to a state called DKA that is extremely dangerous. It may very well not be that, but I encourage you to have it checked just to be safe.

  2. We are relatively new to homeschooling. We removed my older daughter from kindergarten at our local public school because it was going badly, to say the least. She previously had 2 years of preschool on the street where we live which was mostly a great experience for her. She enjoyed it, and made great friends who are still her best friends to this day.

My younger daughter is now 3.5yo. We will ultimately be homeschooling her as well; however, we have been agonizing over whether or not to send her to the same preschool for the sole purpose of making friends. At present she has none to invite to her upcoming birthday and we feel badly about that.

I would very much appreciate some feedback on how other people handle this decision. Do you find that friends aren't so important at this age and naturally occur as she can start getting into group activities? Both my girls are in dance and it seems hard for them to really make friends because there is no time for talking. We have also joined a local homeschool group but so far there aren't any kids their age/gender.

Other factors: it's a financial sacrifice, and she has already started phonics/pre-reading as a result of listening to her older sister.

    All input appreciated!
