  1. We use Sunshine Heroes for the children in our life, and Super Trio for hubby and I. The adult version has a antioxidant, omega 3 and multi vitamin in each packet. The children's version is chewable and the kid's like it very much. This is where we get ours from: mynsp.com/masterstouchherbs
  2. Kathryn, You made me laugh with the text msge to your MIL... Don'tcha just LOVE Siri or spell check? They take it upon themselves to interpret our messages, adding, changing where they wish. NOT always to our benefit. LOL SO glad things went well with the two families you needed to communicate your decision to switch churches.
  3. Praying for everyone. May God be merciful to all of us and extend His lovingkindness and provision for each need. {{{hugs}}} dear sisters!
  4. Juniper, Yes, I guess I'm realizing who our Priest REALLY is...I've listened to some of his free music online. His gentle and kind personality permeates everything he does. He is a gift to St. George. I don't think they fully realize who they have as their Priest, either.
  5. {{{{{{{{Briva}}}}}}}}}} I'm sorry the class you wanted to take was cancelled. I understand about dh's not ready to start the catechisis process. I am meeting with Fr. Apostolos about this very same thing next week sometime when he gets back in town. LIke Alenee said, there can be many distractions in our journey, and I would encourage you to look at whether or not this may be a wrench thrown in the works to discourage you by the enemy, rather then encourage you to press on in your journey. I've had some speed bumps strewn in my path, but I am determined to continue following the road God is wooing me to follow right now... May you hear His patient and compassionate voice guiding and leading you on your journey toward Truth. {{{hugs}}} clw
  6. HI everyone, My friend just called me to let me know the Orthodox study bible in NKJ is on sale at Christian Book Distributors.com for $24.99 in leather bound version. Perhaps someone else is interested in getting one. :) My heart is SO happy at how the Lord is providing the tools I need to continue my journey. My son and I will be joining our friends at the DL tomorrow morning for the Entrance of the Theotokos. Not quite sure what that is about yet, as I haven't had time to research it so it should be interesting. " ) Watching my grandbaby today, have a dinner tonight for my son's honor court for Boy Scouts, so I won't be here much. Thank you again, ladies for helping me get the books Fr. Apostolos Hill recommended. I have to share with him tomorrow about the blessing of sharing his recommendations with me. :) Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
  7. Caitilin, Fr. Hill didn't tell me the author's name, just the title, and since that's the only book I can find online, I'm guessing that's got to be it. I can double check with him, if you'd like. Thank you for your kind offer to share your book with me. I really appreciate that!
  8. Caitilin, I'm not sure how to PM on the new forum. Once I figure that out, I can send you my snail mail. :) Thank you again.
  9. Caitilin, Fr. Hill didn't tell me the author's name, just the title, and since that's the only book I can find online, I'm guessing that's got to be it. I can double check with him, if you'd like. Thank you for your kind offer to share your book with me. I really appreciate that!
  10. This is a long shot, but was wondering if Alenee or Milvony has either one of these books I could please borrow? Father Arseny or Mountain of Silence. Please feel free to PM me. I will try to find it on the new board. tia,
  11. Don't know why some posts make it here, and some don't. Testing to see which way this one goes before I type everything out.
  12. Juniper...I sat in a row all by myself the last time I went, and I missed your sweet presence, guiding me through the prayer book. ") My 2nd time around, my local homeschool friend was there with her family and introduced me to Fr. Hill. She encouraged me to go up for the blessed bread, which I did, then I stayed for a potluck. It just feels lonely without the rest of my family. DH doesn't want anything to do with EO at this point, but continues to let me know if I want to check it out, it's alright, so my journey is very slow...I feel like a turtle at times. ; )
  13. There's finally a button for me to post from. Hope this goes through. It's my 3rd attempt to post since finding the "reply" button. Didn't get to make it to DL this weekend as hoped. My daughter and her 3mo wound up having vehicle issues and with all our men out of town, I had to go rescue her. Wound up showing God's love to her by helping her clean her kitchen, as it's been hard with a fussy baby to get anything done. I don't know if anyone else has ever felt this way while on their journey to Orthodoxy, but I don't feel like I fit in at my family's church right now, and I'm still trying to sort things through. I teach my last Bible study at my family's church tonight, then I'll be praying and regrouping to see what God wants me to do next. Fr. Hill has been wonderful at suggesting reading materials. Now I just need some extra $ to order some of his suggestions.
  14. He loves Legos, playing outdoors, ju-jitsu, and anything to do with WWII. We had a pen-pal from here for a short time, but it fizzled out for some reason and he'd like someone to write to.
  15. Near Prescott. " ) Former resident's of Phoenix for 33 years.
  16. Our family loves to make quiche with cheese, broccoli, onions. We'll have this for dinner and serve with a salad. The other thing that you can make is chicken and dumplings. I make my dumplings using beaten eggs, a little bit of water and some flour, then drop them into boiling chicken stock by the teaspoonful, cook for about 10 minutes and they're ready to serve. My dumplings are thicker as opposed to light and fluffy. You could make some with baking powder to make them fluffier, but we prefer the thicker kind. Another thing we do with eggs that's very reasonable and filling to feed our family and friends is make egg and sausage burritos. You can use ground turkey or pork sausage (1# goes a long way with this recipe). Fry up the sausage and add a few eggs to the mix adding them to a flour tortilla with some cheese or hot sauce. My kids have always loved this for a nice warm and quick meal for me to make them. Hope that helps.
  17. to hide anything poking out of from under her clothing. I remember how embarrassing it was for me as a kid that my mom refused to buy me a bra when I clearly needed one. Make sure you don't wait too long, especially if she is an early developer. I was 9 when I needed to start wearing a regular bra, not a training bra, and that was 40+ years ago.
  18. You probably just hit the insert key. Try hitting it again and see if that takes care of the problem.
  19. We've also had Aussie's, and border Collies. We have an almost 2yo male Golden that is the sweetest dog, by far, we have ever owned. I wouldn't say they are the most protective dogs, but so far this young man barks whenever anyone who is a stranger comes near our country property. I know LONG before the door bell rings that someone who doesn't belong there is coming down the driveway, thanks to our dog, Mr. Finnigan, barking to let me know. Our dogs have been raised with rabbits and cats and get along very well with them. Our Aussie actually used to carry our rabbits around by the nape of the neck and play with them, with everyone having a great time in the "playground". The aussie would even go down the slide with the bunnies. We don't have bunnies any more, so I can't say how our Golden would respond to them, but he adores our cats and snuggles to them all the time. Golden-doodles are AWESOME, too, but if you're going for the shedless version, I'm told you need to make sure you have at least a 2nd generation or more doodle in the bloodline, or they will still shed a lot. I just spent 2 days with a Golden-doodle working on Therapy dog training seminar. He was THE best dog in the entire program and OH so sweet! If my husband would let me get one, they'd be my first choice for our next dog, as I'm trying to cut down on the amount of animal hair in our home. Have fun looking for dogs. Make sure you all play with the dog of choice before bringing it home to make sure it is a good fit for your family and I would encourage you to make sure you have a health guarantee on your puppy from the breeder that their hips are good as well as their overall health. Most reputable breeder's will include this in the purchase of a puppy these days.
  20. Like others have said, finding good renters are hard to come by now, but they do exist. I have watched both sides of the fence, from a renters perspective and a landlords perspective. Some renters I've seen have been good renters, while others have been flakes. Same with the landlords. Just depends on the situation. I think a background check is in order for any kind of rental these days, as well as a credit check. Someone mentioned here, they fill out a credit report app, but are honest if there will be anything on it, and they don't try to hide their problems. I guess I would tend to work with someone who is working on getting their credit straightened out, if they showed a regular income and steady employment, but a flat out liar would not be tolerated, for sure! {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}} Sorry you're going through this and that the former tenants have left you guys with such a mess. I'll be praying you get this place cleared out quickly and will manage to get some of your money back from these flakes, with the help of the courts.
  21. That worked really well for my dd who had auditory processing issues. I'm just getting ready to dig my old copy out to use on my last hs'er, as he too, needs help in this area.
  22. The board I needed to edit something on, didn't have these buttons. Maybe I crossed the posting thresh-hold though and now have access to them here. Do you know how many posts you have to have here to have edit features available to you on the forums?
