  1. So sorry, You can buy them used on Amazon. My kindle keyboard is over 5 yrs old and still works great.
  2. I've had a Kindle for many years. The second kindle that I purchased is now called Kindle Keyboard with 3g. I like it because you have side tabs that you just press down with your thumb - no screen swipe. I ordered the Kindle Paperwhite. I sent it back because I had to swipe the screen, and I didn't like that. The Kindle Voyage has that feature - just thumb press down to turn the page. I use both my Kindles - Keyboard and Voyage.
  3. Have you tested her minerals? Have you tested her Vitamin D? I would do hair mineral & vitamin D tests. $100 for basic, $200 for complete hair mineral analysis; VItamin D through mercola.com is $65/70. YES, it might be a deficiency of vitamins and minerals along with gut health issues & food sensitivities. Buidling the immune system will only help.
  4. It's not if you are normal weight. But if you are overweight and/or insulin resistant butter doesn't spike your blood glucose/insulin levels like a regular breakfast meal does, depending on the contents of the meal.
  5. Yes - BPC helps me NOT to eat breakfast and keep the food cravings away longer than just cream alone; I can now have my first meal of the day at 11-12:30 depending on the day and how much fat was in my morning BPC I've gone from size 16 to sz 12/10 but unable to keep it all off over the last 8 years. I have NOT gone back to size 16 but mostly in size 14 and always trying to get back to size 12 with success for several months before I go back to sz 14. I have 6 identical pants in size 14 AND 12. BPC for breakfast, LCHF lunch & dinner works well for losing and keeping the weight off ONLY if I could just live that way for life. BUT my dh and 2 adult dc are all thinner than me (normal BMI) and tempt me with bad food choices ALL THE TIME - ice cream, cookies, homemade popcorn made with coconut oil, chips, wine, etc. I give in and the weight slowly goes back on. I suggest you join low carb friends and read the forums for intermittent fasting ideas especially the JUDDD forum & Dr. Jason Fung thread.
  6. In the 16oz coffee mug that I use. I put the butter, cream, stevia and then add the coffee about 1/3 of the cup - stick blend & slowly add coffee while I SLOWLY pulse the blender until about 1/2 the mug - stop & add coffee over the stick to get the foam off the stick & fill mug to top & spoon stir.
  7. In morning/night put a box fan in the window blowing air IN. Close the windows and shades during the hottest times of the day and then open the windows and box fan again at night. Closing the door while the box fan is in the window helps to cool it down faster. But we rarely get 100 degree weather and when it's really hot we have central AC and then use that box fan on a chair to blow on us while we sleep.
  8. Yup, magnesium - magnesium oxide will help with BMs but magnesium glycinate/chelated is better absorbed. I use Vitamin C for overall health - 250 mg or more/day. I buy a vitamin c powder (1000mg -1/8 tsp scoop) and mix into a pitcher of cold herbal tea (raspberry - yum) with 8 drops of stevia for a summer drink for my family. Also try Triphala after dinner; it will help the morning BM - I take one pill on occasion. Or if you need more fiber, try chia seeds in coconut milk or smoothie - just make sure to drink more water than usual.
  9. Netflix - Grace and Frankie I suggest you don't watch it with your kids - it's fun adult content!
  10. dietdoctor.com - 2 weeks LCHF challenge is good for daily ideas as well as his free blog (yes, you can pay for better access but I don't) Linda's low carb - basic good recipes http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/ Google = low carb high fat recipes and you'll get a ton of different websites I bought a zucchini spiral slicer and it's great! I've for the first time food processed cauliflower to make cauliflower rice - and it's yummy pan fried with butter and eggs - fast easy meal. There was too much so I frozen some of it and a quick thaw the next several days for C.rice and eggs. I think you can make ahead a pancake like meal with c.rice and eggs. I don't eat breakfast; bulletproof coffee is all I need. 2 meals a day does it for me. If you get hungry in between meals, make bone broth for the week and have that as a high fat snack/drink.
  11. Take magnesium! https://doctormurray.com/magnesium-for-chronic-low-back-pain/
  12. Have you seen Dr. Jorge Flechas video & website? He says thyroid problems & fibromyalgia is due to low iodine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBM2qWKkFxE I am on the iodine protocol: http://jeffreydachmd.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/The-Guide-to-Supplementing-with-Iodine-Stephanie-Burst-ND.pdf Have you considered doing your own tests thru a lab? I highly recommend the book, The Iodine Crisis.
  13. Lane Bryant has yoga pants that look like dress pant on me. I get the size 14/16 and they are SO comfortable that I wear them almost everyday. Yes, they do look like black dress pants when I wear a long sleeve t-shirt from Target and a nice jacket, jewelry and sometimes a scarf with nice shoes to church. I save several of these pant JUST to wear to church and dressy occasions (washing often makes them look less dressy). Look for the Lane Bryant sales. My last pair of yoga pants were $17 (last week or so). I wear a size 14 usually so the LB 14/16 are not tight but just fitted in the butt area not the legs (i have heavy calves). Butt is covered with jacket or long sleeve shirt. Find black and khaki/tan pants that look good on you and buy several of them and wear with switching tops/shoes/jacket/jewelry for a variety of looks. Jackets - thin, thicker & different styles should fit your arms. The other thing is to look at scarfs that you can wear as a jacket. Youtube shows you how to do it. This is a good one: This book really helped me what to look for when shopping and looking thinner - it really makes a difference! How to Never Look Fat Again: Over 1,000 Ways to Dress Thinner--Without Dieting! Good Luck - it's a challenge to look and feel good at any age! :tongue_smilie:
  14. Congrats, Lori (to your ds too!)! :hurray: My ds#1 is graduating next week! :coolgleamA:
  15. I thought I had MS because of the tingling in my arms & legs for several weeks. My doctor (regular MD) checked my serum B12 and it was normal but low. I had B shots for a few weeks then have been orally supplementing ever since (3 yrs). I use NOW brand Co-Enzyme B Complex along with NOW Eve Multi-vitamin. I had my gallbladder out 8 yrs ago.
  16. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them! It's too long to go into. websites I read regularly: Dr. Joseph Mercola Dr. David Perlmutter Dave Asprey Doctor Yourself Mark's Daily Apple Videos: Jonathan V. I'm following this protocol without a doctor's help to shrink my goiter: http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/iodine12345/
  17. I don't take it; I eat it. I put it into boiling water for rice, soup, stews, meat, chicken but not my tea!
  18. Does the school have a placement test? If so which one and for which subjects will they test for? Buy the test prep book and prep your dc to take that test.
  19. Yup, my ds used MicroCenter and NewEgg to build his gaming computer. He hunted for several months to get the best prices.

  21. We've been sponsoring children for many years (one at a time) through what is now called Plan International https://www.planusa.org/
  22. My gallbladder is gone as well as 2 of my 3 sisters. I've been reading a lot about ascorbic acid. The science recommends lots of vit. C everyday for many ailments but also to help with all things gallbladder related.
  23. Check your iodine level. You can do a iodine patch test at home.
