  1. We do 100% for state college: tuition, room and board but no additional spending. They can work and/ or save for their pocket money. Both us paid 95% or more for our own degrees. Our parents didn't have the means to do it. We can do it for our kids without a problem. We lived below our means our whole marriage, and we're lucky enough not to have had to weather job loss or health crisis.
  2. My eldest works full time, lives at home and pays no rent but pays own expenses including groceries, car insurance & gas, phone and any other expenses incurred on our dime. Payment to us/month is $350-450/month since we buy the groceries and pay the bills (except gasoline). The first of the month we take $350 and money for items purchased on our Amazon acct or other. If we needed rent, we would ask but we don't. We pay for everything until children graduate from college. Younger child is still in college. We are blessed to be able to do this.
  3. Maybe this might help you connect to groups closer north if you ask or are willing to drive down to Worcester. They are secular. http://learninks.org/leaf/
  4. Installed our pool 20 yrs ago when our kids were 3yrs and a few months old. It's best to know yourself meaning are you a disciplined person who will be diligent with watching your kids and others at all times? We used a safety cover in the winter and locked the door from the inside with a key when needed. If my kids took one step outside in pool area without my consent, they were spanked It's fun but a lot more responsibility!
  5. Wool clogs, either Stegman or Haflinger. Wool breathes and is comfortable with or without socks. What about Birk shoes?
  6. I believe in ascorbate. I try to take 1 gram/day or more but am not always consistent. I take sodium ascorbate and ascorbic acid. High dose vitamins and minerals have worked to improve my health. My story is too long to get into but here's one. I had basal cell carcinoma on the back of my head removed by MOHS surgery. Then I had some new black spots form in the same area. I used an oil/sodium ascorbate mix on it for a week or more and those black spots fell off and left a small hole in my scalp. I believed it was basal cell carcinoma but without the lab confirmation I can't say for sure. But I believe it was and vitamin c worked to cure me. I don't care what it was, it's gone. Sodium ascorbate saved me time, money and trauma. Btw I have a degree in medical lab science and my Dh has a Ph D in chemistry. So we know something. About science! Now IV vitamin C is being shown to save patients from sepsis. Yes itt works!
  7. Have you had your B12 checked and if so what is it? Start taking a good multi- vitamin like from pure encapsulations plus high dose vitamin c as sodium ascorbate 1-3 grams/ or more/day. Cut down on gluten until you figure it out.
  8. Superfeet blue for my flat feet from Amazon healed my feet quickly. Get the color that goes with your type of foot. I put them in my sneakers and shoes. Or I wear Dansko or other support shoes.
  9. I saw this young lady perform in my area and WOW, she's terrific! Such a delight to watch live and on video:

  12. Don't get a Hyundai Elantra! Nissan Rogue is not too expensive and good in the snow and hills.
  13. I do not use this product but I do use probiotics. http://www.lifeextension.com/magazine/2016/1/innovative-solution-for-oral-health/page-01
  14. No, not now but for the first couple of yrs she did; and we were always home. If not she was crated and sometimes she would poop in her crate ( never in crate for more than 2-3 hrs). My smooth fox terrier was never like that.
  15. My 12 yr old rat terrier poops multiple times a day no matter what food she is on. Always has.
  16. Please don't wish me a happy Mother's Day, just don't - because ..... If you must say something, how about - have a nice day!
  17. High arch green, low or flat arch blue those are the most tried and true. Do wet foot test to see your arch
  18. Superfeet saved me! I have a low arch and bought the blue Superfeet for my plantar fasciitis. Amazon has the best prices. If you are on the upper limit for the size, go up a size and then cut it to your size so the arch fits in the right spot. They are worth the money! The cheaper brands break down quick.
  19. Niacin - read about it here: http://www.doctoryourself.com/anxiety.html There are several forms of B3, check which form is best for you.
  20. My bug loving son is now raising his own red wigglers (he's 22yo). He always loved bugs, spiders and creatures of all kinds as a homeschooled kid. We loved: Christian Liberty Nature Readers 5 book series The Thorton Burgess series for children (Birds, Animals, Seashore, & Flowers)
  21. You the parent have more control than you think within the public school system. If you want your sons in the same classes, and they are OK with it then take it to the top; principle then superintendent in person and in writing. Our public school system will do what parents want IF the parent is relentless and persistent. I've seen it many times in our public school system.
  22. Are you saving for retirement FULLY (both parents)? Are you saving for college for all your dc? Do you plan to help pay for weddings, if so are you saving for those? Does your family have one year emergency fund in case you lose your monthly income? Do you have NO debt? If you've an answered YES to ALL the above, then spend that money on your dc. If no to any of the above then YOU ARE SPENDING TOO MUCH on outside dc activities/school.
  23. I'm having success with my grocery store vegetable stubs. 2 bok choy plants, 3 celery and and few lettuce stubs are growing well. I've never done this before and it is very satisfying! Not a large yield but enough to cut some off and cook with my eggs or soup.
