  1. I had a small amount of bleeding about 14 months after my previously last period. My sister has had bleeding after going more than a year since her last period. Twice. Because mine was close to a year, I didn't have it checked out. Neither did my sis.
  2. Dd is 5' 6" and wears 10.5. Ds is 5' 10' and wears size 12. Both dc feet grew ahead of their height, and both thought they would be taller. I am 5' 9" with size 11 and dh is 5' 10" with size 10. There was one point where all four of us had feet within a half size.
  3. I will go further and admit to using almond milk from a carton that had been open longer than a month. Smelled fine, no issues.
  4. I had considered subbing but the rate here is based on $8 /hr temporary help rate. No thanks. Paraprofessional rate isn't any better, but does come with health insurance.
  5. What a nightmare!! Sorry I don't have anything for you but sympathy.
  6. I am so sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, not an unusual outcome, although it could have been worse--Person B could have been blamed in the entirety.
  7. If you have a licensed driver in your household, Almost certainly (depending on state, I guess) they will need to be included on the insurance. Many families choose to delay allowing teens to get licenses to avoid the increase in car insurance. It is fraudulent to have a licensed driver and *not* disclose it to your insurance company.
  8. Well, not nobody. We have a countertop distiller that processes a gallon in about four hours. They are fairly inexpensive and very convenient. We can keep up with drinking water for 3-4 persons if we are diligent.
  9. Perhaps minimization, cognitive distortion, projection of blame on victim. Depending on the dynamics between Person B (victim) and her superior, I may avoid use of the word "victim", but rather stick to describing the actions without applying labels.
  10. If you are looking to get rid of wrinkles, rather than achieving a crisp pressed finish, you might consider a hand held steamer instead.
  11. I've seen one therapist be in charge, but sub out the actual exercises to an assistant. Also seen where the therapist stayed the same each time. And more loosey goosey where other therapists were called in as needed. There was always one main therapist who did the evaluation and was supposed to track progress.
  12. Driving through Nevada on I80 in January, late in the evening, it started to snow. We noticed the windshield wipers were getting progressively slower. Of course in Nevada the exits are about 50 miles apart. We limp along until the next exit where there is exactly one building in sight--a bar. Asked for help and some nice guy offered to look at the car for us. Turned out the alternator had slipped in its bracket and so wasn't charging the battery, and he was able to fix it easily. Because it was snowing really hard by then, we wanted to wait until morning to drive, but there was nowhere to stay so we got back on the road. The conditions were horrendous. I didn't know whether it was better to stop and have someone potentially hit us, being unable to see us, or keep going and risk running off the road. We kept going until finally stopping in Elko where there was a motel.
  13. I am B+. I learned my blood type when I gave blood for the first time. My father was B+, and was incorrectly identified as O+ while in the army during the Korean conflict. My mother is O+. Dh is O +, dd is B+, ds is O+. Both dc were typed at the hospital at birth.
  14. Powdered laundry detergents will resolidify in the septic tank, creating this marvelous snowy white rock hard layer. Ask me how I know.
  15. I drive a 2009 Highlander with 128,000 miles on it. I like the size, configuration, comfort. Mine is a 4 cyl and is powerful enough for me, but ds thinks it should have more ooomph lol. And it makes the top 10 list of vehicles most likely to reach 200,000 miles. Which is important to me because I have driven each of my last 3 vehicles well over that.
  16. I am comfortable with the rice cooker idea. One of them is quite fond of rice. Beans-- not so much. Which is too bad, because I know I could live on rice and beans for quite a long time. Thank you
  17. Yes, that is what needs to happen. They need a menu, shopping list, and to make sure they have the utensils necessary. With their input, of course. There is no point planning meals they won't eat or are not motivated to cook. I think I may fly there for a weekend to help get it set up.
  18. It is the organization and will that concern me. Lots of good ideas
  19. The fridge has a separate freezer compartment-- the Magic Chef 3-1 mini fridge, which actually keeps things frozen well, but of course is very limited in size. The frozen main dishes is actually a really good idea. Eggs are too! The lack of kitchen sink makes clean up a major obstacle for them, as they are challenged in that department to begin with. I appreciate everyone's suggestions. I am definitely going to have them apply for food stamps. Why did I not think of that before?
  20. Thanks for the additional suggestions. One issue with additional electrical appliances is that ther is only one 15A circuit for the room. I will have to check wattage for Instant Pot. I am thinking some of the higher wattage appliances such as a convection oven may not work so well. As you might guess, there are way more issues than just food. I don't even know how to begin addressing them. And even then, there is probably not much I can do.
  21. Cooking skills are reasonable. You are right that motivation is the key. Executive function is also lacking. I didn't know you could sautée in an Instant Pot! Cool!
  22. Good ideas. Crockpot roaster? Is that different than a standard crockpot?
  23. Thanks. I know one really dislikes rotisserie chicken eaten plain, but it could be cut up and used in a casserole type dish. And yes, actually one has a Sam's Club membership. I have encouraged use of it for the salads. The two pound bags of washed, cut up romaine for $3 is a great deal. I will look into that! Thanks!
