  1. I don't believe so. I think that the Bible is teaching that all men sin and therefore all imperfect. We are made perfect in Christ. I could not believe in a GOd who was not fair.
  2. I have been learning a ton! Outside of learning by immersion this is a great tool!
  3. buy one of those blender bullet things and a freezer full of frozen fruit. Works like a charm with my teen cause she thinks it is cool.
  4. I bet it is harder for an aspie to wear contacts because of sensory issues. And yes, the literal thinking is challenging and humorous all at once.
  5. I love http://www.amazon.com/Henryk-Gorecki-Symphony-No-Opus/dp/B000005J1C/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1363924099&sr=8-4&keywords=the+symphony+of+sorrowful+songs I listen to this at bedtime or when it is a quiet rainy day. I also love this one: http://www.amazon.com/Puccini-Great-Opera-Arias-Giacomo/dp/B00005YQLA/ref=sr_1_sc_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1363925229&sr=1-2-spell&keywords=puccini+gianni+schicchi+kiri+te+kinawa You can't go wrong with a cd full of nocturnes by Chopin, either.
  6. I feel you! Totally btdt. I don't have advice, just understanding.
  7. I watched conference on my ROKU in October and it worked just fine. Enjoy!
  8. IKEA! I looked everywhere and they have a huge selection.
  9. Still don't have a calling since our ward split 5 weeks ago. I think that the bishop wants me to be around to help handle my dd with autism, lol. She does have a tendency to run through the halls screaching. I miss working with the kids, though.
  10. Get some good tweezers and a 15 times magnifying mirror, lol! More ladies have this problem than will ever admit it. :001_tt2:
  11. She is doing a great job! One of the problems people have with writing, essays in particular, is putting in too many unnecessary facts and going off on tangents. My dd has tightened up her writing considerably with wws. Her papers are shorter, but concise. She is no longer rambling and going off topic.
  12. I have been loving wws because it breaks everything down. My dd was all over the place in her writing. She was adding things that were not important and going off on weird tangents. She is now becoming so concise in her writing. I agree with the muscle memory thing.
  13. My daughter has hyperlexia (reads at a much higher level than she understands). She has improved by several grade levels in comprehension this year by using wwe.
  14. Bedtime here is 8:30. My girls have sleep issues (autism and add) so they are often awake until 12 or even later. They are usually up between 8 and 9:30. Not my favorite, but this is one of the reasons that I homeschool. My oldest was a complete wreck in ps because she was always tired. I do let them sleep until they wake up naturally. This helps soothe so many behavior problems.
  15. I am suddenly glad that I have no time for anything crafty right now. Youch!
  16. I pray every single day that I will be a good mil to my ds wife. Let's just say that my own mother in law is not my mentor in this regard.
  17. I am so sorry, sweetie! THat is so hard! I will pray for your little monkey.
  18. How has she done with pre-algebra? Is there a reason to repeat it? My dd12 rebels LOUDLY when she has to repeat things she has already done. Is your dd ready for algebra? You have an extra year to get through it. Or you could space out algebra and geometry.
  19. I have it in a big plastic bin and we use it to make landscapes, etc for reinacting history stuff and we also use it for measuring with measuring cups to practice fractions.
  20. You don't even have to add dolares and centavos. They are two different numbers and will be understood, just like in English. 238.18 is said two thirty eight, eighteen and in Spanish you would say dos cientos treinta y ocho y diez y ocho. They are two different whole numbers and will be understood completely. Just add y between.
  21. There is a GIANT gulf between frog and toad and the bible. Try going to some of the websites that will help you find your childs reading level and find books that he might be interested in. I know that we want our kids to be spiritually fed, and it will happen, but expecting a kid who just learned to read to be reading the bible well is like teaching a kid to add and expecting him to go build a bridge. I promise he will get there! patience!
