  1. I realize this is an old thread, I hope people will forgive me for resurrecting it. I wasn't around when this was started; I've been reading ever since discovering the thread a few days ago and really want to know if the people who were filing eveything two years ago are still filing. In other words, has this system proven to be helpful and sustainable for the long term or was it just a passing fad?
  2. I got rid of the microwave seven years ago because I wanted more counter space and have never looked back. If I had a mounted one I would likely have kept it though.
  3. I did a lot of editing when we used the Astronomy book. The others have fewer YE elements. I do go through the books with pen in hand to edit where necessary before working through them with my kids.
  4. I recently read Smart Moves and found the older edition teacher guide for Brain Gym at the library. It all sounds fascinating. Hopefully someone who has already implemented this will chime in.
  5. Mine does much better throughout the day if I give her some individual attention in the morning. My plan for this year is to check out a stack of library books just for her each week and set aside time to read to her sometime early in the day.
  6. What are you afraid will happen if you miss a year of HOD? I officialy giveyou permission not to worry. There really isn't some particular set of books or knowledge or even skills that will forever hold your kids back if they are not experienced this year. Relax and enjoy the year with whatever best fits your family.:)
  7. I got a molecular model building kit and a periodic table poster.
