  1. My ds has done A Beka through Alg 1. He is in 7th grade and I am looking to get a little more time to homeschool others. I am looking for recomendations for geometry. I would prefer a dvd or cd curriculum. I am really considering CD or TT. My ds is good at math but my next dd doesn't get it as easily and I don't want to buy 2 different programs. TT appears slower than A Beka in Alg I, haven't seen CD. DD wants to do a CD or DVD as well and although she is in 5th grade, the TT placement test puts her in math 7 now with only a half year done. Help?

  3. I have ceramic tile and use a cordless bagless rechargable vac by Electrolux called Ergorapido. It is a little more expensive (about $99) but it holds a charge for about 20 minutes and has a hand vac that can be removed and used separately. It does NOT work that well on carpet but it is GREAT on Tile! The kids love to use it too as it has a great swivel head. I then use a bissel steam mop deluxe. I was very skeptical about mopping without a cleaner but it works well. Also quick and easy with water only. Realy works, just don't use too much water on hard woods. Only drawback is cord could be longer!
  4. Beth-Thanks so much for your suggestions! My son started out as a 1st grader loving the Magic Tree House and then School Bus series. He whizzed through the first Chronicles book but has dragged through the rest. I think I will assign some books and implement a reading for TV/computer time trade. We live in a small town and don't have a donut place but I get the idea. Maybe we can do camping with Dad instead! I guess the key is to just get him to read. - Laura
  5. I would not say that he struggles with reading but he definitely isn't an eager reader. We enforce a 30min quiet time before bed and he loves to listen to SOW on CD before he'll read. He is a little ahead by state standards, he is 9 now, because his bd is in Dec, but he does very well in all of his subjects. He tests well on the Stanford also. Do you think that the Bible curriculum will be enough to continue verifying reading comprehension or should I add something else. We will be starting IEW for writing so I am concerned about bogging him down with busy work. :confused:Thanks- Laura
  6. I used A Beka exclusively thru 2nd gr, then switched to R&S Reading(I love the Bible focus!) and Eng. I love how much my kids have learned but now that ds is going into 5th, I am wondering about the volume required to do Rdg, Eng, and Bible. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience they can share? Thanks-Laura
