  1. I like Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 DVD. I have also done the 30-Day Shred. You can find the full versions of all 3 levels for the 30-Day Shred on YouTube. :) I have not tried too many different workouts, but I'm very interested in any HIIT workout, so I'll be watching to see what others say!
  2. One of our neighbours gave our kids a pack of dried seaweed snack for their "treat". Maybe they are on to something!
  3. Just subscribing to this thread. We tried AAS and abandoned it a couple of years ago. I couldn't take it, and neither could DS. I have Spelling Power, but am afraid to start on anything because I don't want us to fail again. Dumb, I know, but DS feels bad about the things he struggles with.
  4. Oh my gosh...no way! My kids would never go for it anyways, but if they wanted to I would say no. I don't even leave my kids with people I know, though.
  5. My mom uses scraps of material and makes her own bags. She puts a drawstring on one end. Hers are sometimes tacky because she uses the most awful material, but I like the idea, and they would look really nice if they weren't done in 70's curtain material.
  6. Not worth it. I tried it and it took me forever to figure out how to delete it entirely. I did not like it at all.
  7. I agree, but damage isn't always malicious and even honest mistakes should be fixed by the tenant. For example, we were renting a basement suite many years ago. My husband was running on the treadmill and got too far back on the treadmill and his heel put a hole in the drywall. Malicious? No, definately not! Our responsibility to repair? Definately yes. But now that *I* am a landlord, I also realize how blessed I am, and it never hurts to be kind. Never ever. Especially if the tenants are "good" tenants. Sometimes I flush wipes down the toilet in our house. I guess I should stop doing that, eh?
  8. We have several properties. We had some plumbing issues with one of them and did not bill the tenant, even though we could have. We're just nice, compassionate people. If they had flushed a squirrel down the toilet, though, I would definitely bill the tenant! In this situation, I would be kind and pay the bill and then tell them next time it happened, the bill would be their responsibility. It is hard to prove the cause of a clog, though, unless the plumber fishes it out. A lot of times the plumber can just snake it out and it is never seen.
  9. I apologize if you thought my message was just for you. Some people have responded in such a way that makes them appear that they think its funny. I wasn't trying to single you out. I also assumed you wouldn't let the squirrel take up residence in your house! I have had squirrels in my house...in the walls (poor thing was trapped for a few hours), and in our attic and somehow under the bathroom sink. I know you don't want a squirrel LIVING in your house...my assumption was that you wouldn't just release it into your living room and let it be! So that's the reason for my comment about it viciously destroying your house.
  10. You are welcome. Technically, it didn't go out the way it come in, though. It would have fallen in from the air vent on your roof, and now it's in the septic system. I don't get how a squirrel poses a threat to your family or threatens to do tremendous damage to your home. A squirrel? I guess I'm missing important information about squirrels being so dangerous and threatening. I don't know what I would have done, and I'm not saying you did a horrible thing, but defending your decision to kill a squirrel to people who have compassion for all creatures on the basis of it being a threat and danger to your family...well, I don't know how else to say it, it's ridiculous. Some people just have compassion and love for animals, so it would be nice of you if you were sensitive to that, you know, now that you're family is safe from this ravaging, wild creature. Just a suggestion, as it is obvious that some people fell bad about it. You don't have to "get it" why some people feel that way, you just should accept it and be sensitive. Some will think it's really sick that you are joking around about killing an animal like it is funny. Yeh, you did what you felt you ought to have done, but don't joke about it.
  11. It probably came in through the vent in your pipes. It is not a closed system, all toilets are vented to the outside of the house. You should climb up on your roof and check the vent and repair it so nothing else falls in or climbs in. On another note...I'm so glad there are no rats where I live!!
  12. I did it for a week with organic sesame oil. I gagged uncontrollably when I spat it out for a few minutes until it felt like my eyes were going to burst. I want to try it again, though.
  13. Story of the World. My kids enjoy it a lot, and now I'm finally learning world history, too!
  14. We like Kiss My Face kid's toothpaste. It's berry-flavoured and fluoride-free.
  15. You can buy the full version of the game for $26 for your computer, and you can also buy the app for iPad for $7. The iPad app does not have all the possibilities of the full version. Also, for the iPad you can download the "lite" version for free to see if you like it before paying for the app. That's what I did. I ended up buying the app because my boys were frustrated with losing their creations every time the server reset. As for the computer version, you can go to the Minecraft website and download a free trial version before you invest money into it. My husband is currently loving the game. Lol
  16. Jumping in here just so I don't feel left out. I told my husband what the topic being discussed was, and without skipping a beat he said in a slithery, dark voice, "Humans are a virus...." And then I missed the rest of his monologue because I was laughing too loud. Shoot.
  17. My 6 year old just finished ETC 1 today, so we are starting ETC 2 later this week.
  18. I would either ignore the request or put her on my "restricted" friends list, so she can't really see anything on my profile anyways. I have a lot of church people on my restricted list because I am too candid and real, and they can't handle it.
  19. I'm interested as to what others will say. Have you read any of Charlotte Mason's stuff about "training" children until the discipline becomes automatic for them? I'm also very interested because I have a similar approach to life as your son -mostly because life just overwhelms me, and I feel the need to change.
  20. Ouch! I would have not responded as tactfully as you, that's for sure.
  21. Oh my gosh!! You TOTALLY cheered me up with this. I actually laughed out loud. It has been DAYS since I've laughed!!
