  1. We are starting with TOG yr 3. We were using SOTW and finished vol 1 and 2. We are reading all books and supplement books that we can find at our libraries in the 3 area cities. So we are able to check out most of all books recommended and extras. Also we bought a few.
  2. Hello, Our family has been homeschooling for 2 years now. We just started using TOG with my 3rd graders and 1st grader. We are doing both LG and UG with all 3 kids. We are doing the activities and using the geo, lit, history and church history of the TOG. We also have separate grammar, science, math, bible, spelling and vocabulary. My question is-- am I missing something? We seem to be ahead in the TOG and able to finish everything up in 3 days (with all our school subjects). I heard that with TOG there is no way to complete everything. I am wondering if I am missing something with the TOG or should be adding something else. Thanks for any help. :bigear:
  3. I am considering using TOG for the next school year. I have 2- 3rd graders and a 1st grader. We are using SOTW and the activity guide with it but the info isn't sticking. They like the chapters but are not retaining. We are 1/2 way through SOTW vol 2. I just wanted to know is TOG really that great before I spend money on it. It seems quite expensive. I like the curricula that I am using for subjects that TOG also covers. It is just history that we are having an issue with. I don't want them to miss out, history is facinating. Any help would be greatly appreciated! :bigear:
  4. My two oldest kids are 8. When is the right time to have them start doing research papers? They are doing 3rd to 4th grade work. Any imput is appreciated. :001_smile:
  5. I am looking for a complete art curriculum for my kids they are 6 and 8. I would like it to teach them the basics of drawing, painting, watercolor, art terminology and all that fun stuff. Maybe also introduce famous artist of the past. Does anyone know of a curriculum like this? Thanks, Mendy
  6. My family bakes alot, ALOT. We have found large bags of Walmart brand white flour for a good price at Walmart. Does anyone know where to get a really good deal on wheat flour either in store or online? Thanks, Mendy
  7. At this point her issues are only cosmetic. Her father has a very crowded mouth that has caused big problems as an adult. Also, I am a bit nervous when the ortho talks about removing teeth. Can that cause problems for her as an adult?
  8. We were told by our dentist that it would be a good time for our 8 year old to get some consults from othodontists. The first one said that it was definately time for an expander, braces, and a retainer. He made it almost sound like we had waited to long. She would need them on for 14 months (phase 1) then come back in a few years to start phase 2. The 2nd orthodontist said she should wait until she has all of her adult teeth, there is no rush. Does anyone have any experience with phase 1 or waiting? I'm so confused!
  9. Thanks everyone for all the great recipes! I can't wait to start baking!!
