  7. School was on the floor at our house today as well! My mother gave us a huge box of books last night and I have them sitting on the class room table as I was sorting them. I have come to the conclusion that I need to invest in a new bookshelf. So the books will live on that classroom table until I can force my self to drive the thirty minutes to town and purchase a new book self .
  8. :iagree: These two work wonderfully together! http://www.amazon.com/Cut-Paste-Science-Jodene-Smith/dp/0743937066/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1347518168&sr=8-1&keywords=science+cut+and+paste http://www.amazon.com/Usborne-First-Encyclopedia-Science-Internet-Linked/dp/0794530435/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1347518294&sr=1-1&keywords=The+Usborne+Internet-Linked+First+Encyclopedia+of+Science This would make a great addition http://www.amazon.com/Cut-Paste-Mini-Books-Interactive-Reinforce/dp/0439574080/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1347518168&sr=8-3&keywords=science+cut+and+paste

  10. I have a rather large pinterest board. http://pinterest.com/abbiejack/
  11. Today was our first day of school and my kids had donuts LOL. They love them and I never buy them ,so they wear a hit! We took "First day of school" pictures , opened the boxes of curriculum and other school items,& did a little "All about me" lapbook. The kids spent over and hour and a half just flipping through the new books .
  12. My three year old LOVES to be read to. I honestly think he would sit all day and let me read to him. He is constantly bringing me books to read to him and spends a good majority of the day laying on the couch in the reading nook looking at books. His favorite two places are the library and the book store.
  13. My 3 year old is still a baby LOL . He will be 4 in September and is JUST now getting interested in "school". He will be spending his year learning his letters, numbers and playing.
  14. We do A LOT of gluing . DD is in love with all things crafty and spends almost all of her free time making some new creation.
  15. They had them at ours and I stocked UP! I bought 100 glue sticks . I hope they last us all year .
  16. DD got to pick out a new dress for the first day of "school" . We took first day of school pictures . We rowed Ping that week so we went and ate at a local chinese restaurant for lunch and then we went to the store and she was allowed to pick out one small toy.
  17. We went through an embarrassing amount of glue sticks this year. :blushing: DD is in love with all things crafty and so we go though a tremendous amount of art supplies . I am waiting on a great sale so that I can stock up for this coming year.
  18. I would love to know what curriculum you are using as it sounds like something that my kids would love.
  19. Songs and Calender work. DD had to switch the date on the calender each day, as well as the day of the week. (Tune Oh my darlin' Clementine) There are 7 days... There are 7 days... There are 7 days in a week! Sunday , Monday, Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday ,Friday ,Saturday There are 7 days... There are 7 days... There are 7 days in a week! (Tune Michael Finnegan) January , February ,March and April,May and June July and August, September, October,November, December these are the months of the year!
  20. DD is in both and she much prefers gymnastics .She has been in Gymnastics since she was 18 months old and in dance since she was 3 . She is not going to be doing dance again this year as she said she no longer wants to do it because " It's to slow and boring" So we are going to do more Gymnastic classes instead .
  21. Well I don't know how much help I'm going to be as DD just started reading. We always have a read-along of some sort going on. We are in the middle of the Magic Tree House series . I like the fact that the chapters are short enough to hold my LO"s attention but intriguing enough for DD to like them. With her private reading we buy her a new book when ever she finishes the book she is on. It helps us build our library and it gives her an incentive to read. She loves going to the book store and being allowed to choose any book in her reading level that is under $10
