I think it is a terrible idea. True, they are making discoveries about the development of the human brain and it is also true that teens and 20 somethings are the greatest risk takers. That doesn't mean they are children. Without people willing to take the risks the so called adults are not society would never move forward. What we should be doing is creating better support networks while the young adults are still children and teens, continuing into adulthood. Mentoring, education, apprenticeship, etc. I just had someone say to me that the 14 year old who spoke about gun control should basically be ignored because she doesn't have life experience and only knows what she has learned in school. Umm, she just lived through something most people have not. Just because she is 14 doesn't mean she is incapable of having insights and something relevant to say.

We did what we always do for our anniversary-we went out to dinner. One year we both forgot it was our anniversary. I think it was our 17th. That is us.

I have been using my pampered chef garlic press for decades now. Don't even have to peel the garlic. I don't use the press for pretty minced garlic. The purpose of the press is to crush the garlic. If I want to see the garlic I use my knife.

Perhaps I am jaded but my experiences with panhandlers has been similar. From street pros-back in the day I had an experience with a woman who used a bruise on her face and a story of an abusive boyfriend and needed money for a subway token to get home to her mother. I don't give money to panhandlers. But I did have an extra token which I gave to her. As I walked away she turned to the next person coming up and delivered her schpiel. I have had similar experiences when I have given food to a panhandler instead of money. I know not all panhandlers are scam artists but due to my experiences with professional beggars I don't believe any of them.

Furniture is meant to be used. In general, you can teach children to treat the furniture respectfully but they are children. TBH, adults damage furniture. Anytime you place something on the table it is an opportunity for damage. You can use a table pad and a tablecloth to minimize opportunity for damage.

I am with you on the ac. I can deal with being hot but if it is humid the AC is being turned on.

I fondly refer to my husband's energy drinks as "poison in a can". As far as I know my kids don't use them. My oldest takes caffeine pills to help with his adhd. My youngest will occasionally drink coffee.

I feel relieved to finally know how he died and to understand how his death really messed them all up. The guilt they all carry around and never dealt with. I am sure mom tried her best but it seems like none of them got therapy. I hope that now that we know how Jack died that we will get more glimpses into the future. But, I still want Jack flashbacks as they all finally get into a health place.
