  1. We were using MFW's recommendations, but Writing Strands made us nuts. We are using Switched-On Schoolhouse but I'm not liking that as much as I thought it would. I am finding that it is a bit more tedious for my children than I had hoped. I'm considering Learning Language Arts Through Literature. Any recommendations? Thanks!
  2. Just found it on Amazon! Perfect! Buying it. :) Thanks!
  3. Has anyone ever had their child do these questions in the activity book by writing them down (not orally)? I am wanting to do this and finding it a pain to type them all up. Ugh. Please tell me that someone somewhere has already done this and I can use theirs....?
  4. I can't believe I haven't even watched Idol yet this year!
  5. No advice, but praying here! :001_smile:
  6. Put too much Nutmeg into a drink (please don't ask)...lol... Say, "I've never been pulled over for speeding," and then not pay attention to my speed. Trim a newborn's finger nails with a clipper (chewing them off is much safer).
  7. I LOVE to crochet...and might even turn it into a business someday. :001_smile:
  8. We use My Father's World and so far my picky daughter likes it just fine. :001_smile:
  9. Aww...so sorry! Ours usually adds up to that, too.
  10. The time has come that I have always dreaded in our homeschooling adventure: One of my children (oldest -- 13yo dd - 8th grade) is stuck in math - and I don't know the answers... Algebra 1 - Saxon She is stuck at about Lesson 37. There are some concepts she is just NOT getting. She has the DIVE cd and has gone back and listened and reread the lesson a few times and is just not getting it. What do I do? I do NOT remember Algebra. Switch curriculum? Get a tutor? What? HELP?!?!?!
  11. When I was reading The Bronze Bow I got choked up quite a bit. "Will you love for me 'till the end?" Oh! Be still my heart! I actually start to giggle from embarassment when I do it...so it breaks up the boo hooing a bit.
  12. I'd be "skeered," too! I have accidentally put very light beige clothes in with my whites (well, actually, my kids did)...and they came out a bit lighter.
  13. I haven't looked at the one above yet, but I am going to! Here's what I found in Paula's Archives: http://www.redshift.com/~bonajo/history.htm#WGRR
  14. Does anyone know where I can see a list of great books that is divided up by time periods and/or appropriate ages to be read to? Thanks!
